My point was the ref sucked for both sides. He make key mistakes on both sides. The match was 3-1, after that no major mistakes by the ref were made that effected the score. We put in some subs and you guys bunkered. Meaning your tactics did you in.

Please, we had enough grit and kept pressuring even when things were almost done for us. We showed you how to play and keep a lead.

Ask your fellow MLS'ers what thats like playing Mexican teams at home.

Don't worry, when we go to Salt Lake we will school you there too.

Obviously Cruz Azul hasnt been there yet.

How about we make it interesting then, If Cruz Azul beat RSL at home you will change your sig and avie to one of my choosing and vice versa.

Considering your club is only a couple of years old, you probably meant RSL has NEVER! been outclassed at home. :D:D:D

If Cruz Azul shows up with their starting 11 on that visit to Salt Lake, you guys better have better excuses for your imminent loss.

By the way, none of my posts are meant as disrespect to Cruz Azul. I actually enjoyed the game and am disappointed at the way it ended.

I hope the first 11 does come up to Salt Lake City. We enjoy good soccer and Cruz Azul = top flight soccer. It would be a treat for us to see the first 11. I doubt our coach will make the same bunkering mistake twice against you. It will be a great game.

I just got home to watch the last 15 min of the game and could not be happier... not just because we won, but while I was watching Chuleta score I was thinking how he deserves a shot in the NT and of course I just found out he got called, which is excellent news.

There is no deserve, would have, could have, should have in football. You deal with the circumstances of the game and adjust. It sucks, just like last year when we were going to win this very tournament. If our defense would have made a good pass, if our mid could have cut it out, if our defense would have covered faster, if our goalie would have been a bit quicker, we would have been champs. 20 seconds from the end and thanks to the away goal rule we are second.

But thats the game, its one of the few sports where your work doesn't always give you results and sometimes it just comes down to luck or a mistake.

The only team that got outclassed was the team that lost.

Hahaha. After the Crew were smashed last year 5-0 in Mexico City, all the Crew fans kept saying "we'll get them in the return leg!" Then they lost again 2-0. HAHAHAHA!! That game ended their long home unbeaten streak. Let's see if RSL can keep theirs alive until October.

Anyway, can someone please kill Cervantes? He's a p.o.s. He ruined the game in Toronto and he almost ruined the game tonight. These games should be like the ones vs the Crew, not games that are not apt for cardiac cases.

Cruz Azul was the better team and it showed when the rain calmed down how much better Cruz Azul is than RSL. RSL made the same mistake MLS teams make when they play in Mexico they tried to press and be agressive and when that didn't work they sat back too much. RSL got help from the rain, if you look two of their goals were defensive mistakes Cruz Azul goals were constructed with good passing and pressuring the defense. RSL is a good team but the MLS is still inferior to Mexican League. People are always saying that the MLS is getting better but the Mexican League is also getting better.

I have no problem with people who post reasonably, they deserved to celebrate that win. It was well deserved and we should have been better prepared.

However I will not stand in my forum, people gloating like they won the whole tournament, or that 1 result goes any further than that.

Cruz Azul was founded in 1927.
