It makes you wonder how they think most of us FSC viewers apparently need male enlargement pills, Sketcher shoes and hair products.
Coming back at the start of the 2nd half, it showed Vieira coming out of the tunnel. Webster obviously hadn't been watching as he said it was (something along the lines of) a surprise or something about the change and that they would check to see who it was for and how he hasn't had much time on the pitch, etc., Vieria had already come on for Muntari early in the 1st half. Obviously not that big a deal or anything, just found it funny.
haha - i think those commercials are the equivalent of spam. They fire them off on a bunch of networks at all hours and someone is bound to need something, or be convinced of something by the 3rd rate acting. something in the vein of "man, my roaches ARE hard to kill. And I DON'T want dangerous chemicals being sprayed around my baby's crib." but I would definitely support FSC's sponsors. I almost bought something once from WorldSoccerShop.com but found it cheaper elsewhere.
Thanks FSC for your plausibly live TV. I decided to click on the BBC text commentary (which is usually a minute or two behind the action) to follow along with Aston Villa v Everton, only to see that one team had already scored. It took a full minute plus for the goal to happen on TV. Doesn't GolTV start their pre-game 5 minutes before a match? Why can't FSC do the same?
If you have FSE and your TV handles SAP you can go to FSE and use the SAP option and you will get the live feed of the Sunday Morning game. FSC adds the opening at the top of the program/commercial break so the game isn't actually live as you know. On FSE the game is 2 minutes ahead of the FSC feed till half time and that is when FSC catches up on the broadcast from what I have noticed. Yesterday's Man U game at 12:30 was in real time for both FSC and FSE in the first half. A lot of the timing issues have to do with the time slot of the game. I've learned to watch the first half of any game I care about on FSE. Turning my SAP option through my cable box is really easy and if I forget that it's on the only station that reminds me to turn it back to English is GOL TV.
I guess you should have read Post 1 of https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1517833 which says "11am ET (3-minute delay) - Aston Villa vs Everton - FSC/FSE" although that statement implies that FSC and FSE are at the same point in the game which isn't exactly true.
If a couple of minutes delay ruins your experience, you may need to chill out a bit. It's not that big of a deal.
Maybe I'm taking crazy pills - but I'm at an absolute loss as to why I'm the only one it's a big deal to. Seriously, they put a "live" graphic on the screen and pass off everything like it is live. It's almost insulting. I guess I need to chill, but it just pisses me off. Doesn't it bother anyone else that while they are watching the match, all the half-chances, controversies, goals and saves, that it actually happened several minutes prior? It detracts from the authenticity of my viewing experience. And angers me because it's so easy to remedy. Seriosuly, how much can those Blue Hippo commercials pay? If anyone has any chill pills, send 'em my way!

How many sports are truly live? It's a few minutes. It doesn't bug me, because what am I missing out on? How does watching the match just a minutes earlier change anyone's lives unless you're betting? And guess what, if you watch on satellite, there is a delay in that as well. If people can't handle it, I feel sorry for you.
If it was a 10 or 15 minute difference, fine. But the only way you're getting instantaneous live coverage of anything is to be there yourself.
Yes - but the delay you are talking about is as a result of waves taking the time to go into the upper atmosphere and then back to the Earth's surface - not as a result of a station choosing to run 3 or 4 extra commercials. AAAAAAHHHHHHH! - hulk mad! looks like I quoted the wrong post. just all outta sorts over this!
The point was, you were never getting an instantaneous live feed to begin with; it's ALWAYS delayed in some way. Complaining about a 30 second or a couple of minutes delay is a bit excessive. FSC needs to somehow come close to making money, and if they have to show a commercial or two extra to be closer to doing that, then fine. EPL is better than no EPL.
Surprised nobody mentioned the audio screwup int he Colorado-Houston post-game show on Saturday night. Instead of switching the audio feed to the reporter interviewing Ina Joyce post game they ended up with the audio feed from behind the scenes, which included a number of pieces of "colorful" language about the clips they wanted to show.
Indeed. I follow all of Barcelona's matches via two sources: 1) On TV where it's being shown 'live' on either ESPN Deportes or GolTV, 2) Through streaming radio commentary on either RAC1 or Radio Catalunya. The radio commentary arrives approximately 7-15 seconds earlier before the tv video feed, so I actually hear what's going on before seeing it happen on tv. Doesn't take away from my enjoyment one bit but I can understand how it would irk others. But if someone is only watching the game on tv I don't see how a 7 second or 3 minute delay could detract from the enjoyment since you have no idea what has taken place yet. Jamooky, do you also follow the FSC 'live' match through a second source, be it radio commentary or text commentary (via BBC, for example)? If so then why not ditch the second source if the FSC delay bugs you that much? As long as you have no idea what is about to transpire while watching a game on FSC then I don't see how it could be bothersome.
The only time I found it to be a problem is when watching the matches at a pub. There's always some poindexter in the crowd that feels the need to follow on his blackberry and then can't keep his big mouth shut when news filters in of a goal being scored. But at home, why would anyone even watch "Live TV"? I always watch delayed on DVR anyway so I don't have to put-up with the commercials and half-time filler stuff. Yesterday I watched the Barca match 11 hours after it actually took place. Doesn't take one ounce of enjoyment out of it.
Can't do it. Can't act like I'm watching something live when I know it took players hours before. Can't fake like all those "almost moments" are really that exciting when I also know that the result is already out there - I just can't do it. It takes all the enjoytment out of the equation for me. Of course, a 3 minute delay isn't that bad. I guess I'm the weird one on this issue. I'll shut up now.
I CAN watch games on delay, but as SOON as I know what the score is, I'm done. And the worst thing is that I have about nineteen million things (phone, Internet, Twitter, etc.) that so desperately want to tell me the score. So it really works with things like Serie A matches where I have no rooting interest and would never go look for the score on my own.
yeah the 12:30 game has that lead in from Fox Soccer Match Day where they can get all of the commercials out of the way so they do the lineups at around 12:22 or so.
here it is. gotta love FSC. BTW anyone watch Soccer Talk Live this week? was the woman who was Susan Sarandon's daughter married to Martino? Are they running out of guests already that they have to call in family? Also funny that next week's show is "off for Labor Day" and they will run a "Best of" episode. Yikes. Still have to applaud them trying, tho.
