Thanks a lot, buddy. Hope to see Milan Baros fresh comeback. Squad select : Any idea Who will get call up ?
It was just announced: Goalkeepers: Petr Cech (Chelsea), Jaroslav Drobny (Hertha Berlin), Jan Lastuvka (Dnipropetrovsk). Defenders: Tomas Hubschman (Shakhtar Donetsk), David Limbersky (Plzen), Ondrej Mazuch (Anderlecht), Ondrej Kusnir (Sparta Prague), Tomas Sivok (Besiktas), Marek Suchy (Spartak Moscow). Midfielders: Jaroslav Cerny (Slavia Prague), Milan Cerny (Slavia Prague), Mario Holek (Dnipropetrovsk), Jan Moravek (Schalke), Jaroslav Plasil (Bordeaux), Jan Polak (Anderlecht), Daniel Pudil (Genk), Libor Sionko (Sparta Prague), Rudolf Skacel (Larissa). Forwards: Martin Fenin (Frankfurt), David Lafata (Jablonec), Lukas Magera (Timisoara), Tomas Necid (CSKA Moscow). ---- Most of the missing notables: Rosicky, Baros, Sverkos, Bednar, Hubnik- are recovering from injuries. It's a very young backling, but it will be interesting to finally see how Suchy and Mazuch do at the Senior Level. Midfield has the bulk of the experience, and up front Necid is the playe to watch, but he is in season so I imagine CSKA will want his minutes reduced.
@Thanks for the update. Necid,Sivok . Both of them had very good season. Hoped to see Baros on the list too. Lets hope he comeback at EQ group games time.
What about Lukas Magera? I don't know much about him. Ahh, I see he played with Banik Ostrava and Kladno before moving to Romania.
The USA friendlies are complete: v. Turkey 1-2 goal: Milan Černý v. USA 4-2 goals: Sivok Polák Fenin Necid The positives: we scored a goal, and then 4 in the next game... it's been a while we ended the losing streak. We did all this without Rosicky, Baros, or are starting defense (save maybe Sivok). Negatives our defense played llike what they are, inexperienced. Against Turkey, our midfield, which is the strength of the squad we brought, was completely outmatched. Only Plašil was particuarly effective (he was also probably MOTM v USA). Overall: can't read to much into these matches, they were friendlies. Particuarly against the USA there was a big sense of urgency as the Czech press was getting pretty harsh with the team and Bilek especially. I'm not a fan of Bilek either, but after the fiasco of WCQ, all I really want from a manager are continuity and less controversy. This is a big improvement over losing to Scotland and much better than losing to UAE or Azerbaijan.
congrats for the 4-2 victory i hope czech will improve and new midfield talents can come up to replace rosicky
Latvia friendly ended 4-1 in our favor (Winning streak!! ). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to catch this one, can anyone comment? I'll probably watch the highlights later this evening.

I've reviewed the highlights and come to these conclusions: 1)we scored 4 goals 2)Latvia scored 1 (in stoppage time)
the stoppage time goal is to make the latvian happy now we have necid to rely on for the czech team's future
Tomorrow is the day the squad for the first Euro qualification is supposed to be announced. There was a bit of speculation and media debate about Ujfaluši- who did speak with Smicer and Bilek. It sounds like from a recent interview that he is not returning as he feels at 32 it is better to focus on his club career.
that is disappointing considering the younger guys could learn a ton from him over the next 2 years, which would help your younger guys towards the WC2014 qualifications as well. i think he will be missed especially. as for your squad announcement, i am interested considering all the younger guys that have potential to be on it, and it should be interesting to see who is left off

The match will be in Olomouc.
that is still a pretty solid lineup... you guys out class them by quite a bit on paper, 3-0 should be obtainable
Cant wait for the Euro qualifier. We need to win all our matches because Scotland will really push us for 2nd
We definately have a great opportunity for a strong start, Lithuania at home really should be a sure thing. That said, Lithuania could do us a huge favor by beating Scotland on 9/3 and then letting it go their heads.
What a terrible game. We got extremely lucky to get the draw. Laštůvka is terrible. The first goal he allowed I could have stopped. The defense was also pretty bad and many of the selections confused me. Jiráček and Petržela were surprise picks for me and they did terrible all game. Jiráček was lucky not to be redcarded and why was Plasil playing as a defending mid? I really don't like Bilek because he can never get the line-up right and our defense has been terrible under him.
So, the Czech Republic has advanced to the playoffs, despite having a rather poor squad. All in all, not a bad result. Here is hoping they get a good playoff draw
