Good to see some are getting the money through!
Nigelb, if it went to your old CC, how did you get the money? It's a schoolboy question, but I think there are a few people in the same situation. Did the CC company transfer to a new card, or a bank acc?

    Thanks

That particular CC was still active (I didn't want to take to SA because it has a huge credit limit). 2 of my other CC's assigned to resale tickets have been cancelled.

It will be interesting to see if FIFA are smart enought to work that out. I suspect not and I'll be waiting another 4 weeks trying to work how to recoup my $$$$.

FIFA don't need to work that out, and even if they did, there's nothing they can do about it. They are obliged to make the refunds to the accounts of the (now cancelled) cards that paid them, and then it's down to your bank to work out what to do with the money. If you have new cards on the same accounts as the cancelled cards then that will be trivial.

I was wondering the same thing so I asked them. They sent me this via email yesterday.

    Thank you for your email.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre is currently processing refunds for those customers whose Tickets were successfully resold via the Ticket Transfer Platform. You will receive within this week a communication confirming the status of the Tickets that you have returned for resale.

If the card you used to pay for the tickets has changed and therefore the refund fails, we will then contact you directly to ask you to provide us with alternative card details.

    Yours sincerely,

2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre

I just sent them an email saying that I'm starting to charge 19.95% interest as of 08/08/2010.
I think I'll get a response on it soon.

Well done! As far as I can tell, they are breaching a contract.

If the terms and conditions say no later than four weeks and it's been longer than four weeks then surely you have some grounds for compensation?

Fat chance of getting any compensation for the delay. The longer they keep the refund, the more money they will receive in interest from the bank that is holding the funds. Of course, they will be milking this interest income as long as they can get away with it. Problem is, Sepp Blatter and others (FIFA), are probably getting their cut, so any pressure on the South African World Cup Ticket Sales administration by FIFA, if there is any, will be just for show.

I most certainly agree with you. They are earning interest from your (our) money and as long as they are, they will delay refunding the money. They don't care how much you (we) complain and threaten to charge them interest. They will hold the money as long as they can get away with it. Any legal action for compensation would probably be too expensive, considering the small amount of compensation that would be due. One would probably have to retain a lawyer in South Africa and file a complaint against the WC2010 South Africa ticket administration through the South African legal system. Sounds very expensive and most likely not economically feasible. The only chance might be a class action suit, but the South African WC ticket administration would probably have to hold onto the money for a year in order to make any such legal action worth the trouble. Let's hope the cash shows up in a few days, because if it doesn't, I don't know if there is any way legal action could be taken from the US.

Anyone get another e-mail today saying something like this?

    Maybe they're finally processing it.

I got the same email as above too :) But why do I feel like "Currency fluctuations may further reduce the amount of the resale proceeds" means I better get some lube ready.

No, I haven't had that yet, but I am delighted to see that they are sending out emails with nothing in that we didn't already know a long time ago, when the resales originally went through.

As for the currency fluctuations, the USD buys less GBP than it did at the time of the World Cup, so the delay has cost me money. Thanks, FIFA.

Well it looks suspiciously like a receipt to me - like the sort of thing they'd send after making a payment. Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I guess we'll find out in a couple of days.

I ordered tickets in both my own and my dad's name, but I only recieved mail for my application about this. Since the total value of the sold tickets on my other application is three times higher, I'm a little bit worried now.

    Anybody else experiencing the same?

Yea I received 2 emails today for 2 successful ticket sales. Though one was confusing since I paid for one ticket that I bought in ZAR with my american credit card even though I am not a SA resident. If you guys remember during the last phase, we were able to buy tickets as SA resident unknowingly since it didnt give us any other option to choose as our country of residence. I successfully resold it by putting it on the resale site in May and now the email is telling me the refund will be issued via "bank transfer" even though I didnt pay for the ticket using bank transfer. FIFA is thinking I am a SA resident and wants me to provide them my bank acct details for the refund. What should I do ?

I've had one email now. It happens to be for the earlier of my two resales (i.e. I made the request and the tickets were sold, before I made my second resale request for some other tickets). I don't know if the timing is significant, but anyway, I'm expecting another email in due course.

Incidentally, I love the way that the email quotes all of the ticket resale policy at me. Well, all of it except the bit that says
Edit: I've just sent them a brief email about missing the 4-week deadline. Obviously I'm not expecting anything useful back, I'm sure they're not capable of that, but still, it has to be said.

Personally I would assume that the email is rubbish, for now, and only worry about it if one refund turns up and the other one doesn't. By the way, how are you supposed to supply your bank details, email or online?

Has anyone received an email about PMA ticket resales?

My FIFA.com resales have been confirmed via email, but no news about the PMA tickets....

No wonder Match couldn't make a profit even though they were a monopoly WC ticket seller. They are h0pele$$. !!!!==

I got e-mails for my non-PMA ticket resales but not for my PMA tickets. The PMA tickets were sold after the non-PMA tickets. And yes, it is ridiculous that it took FIFA five weeks to send out an e-mail telling people that "the check is in the mail." Seems like a pretty transparent way of stringing things along, by sending out BS e-mails, in order to hold the cash and keep the float for as long as possible. FIFA is a kleptocracy.

Has anyone received emails for TST sales?
As yet I haven't heard anything from FIFA, despite my Ticket Summary page showing they had sold.
Worryingly, this section has now been removed by FIFA, and replaced with a message saying they have things under control.

If anyone is still waiting for the email, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    StanleyUK

I got the first email that everyone got regarding my sold TSTs , saying that they are reviewing and will pay within a week. I haven't received the second one with exact amount.
I also have another user from which I bought and sold single game tickets, and so far I haven't got any email regarding those tickets.
It's probably the usual mess with FIFA.
We will all have to wait ...

I think I might try this with a scalper the next time I buy a ticket outside a stadium.

"I'll take the ticket off you and you'll receive my money within four weeks of the game ending - actually you probably won't, but after four weeks I'll send you a couple of e-mails telling you the money is on its way and draw it out for as long as possible. Deal?"

lol, I've gotten those same emails. How long does it take to "process" refunds FFS? They sure didn't take this long processing payments. If I recall my credit card was charged within seconds of me hitting the confirm button.
