I'm one of those who sold back 2 QF tickets (3 each) and am still waiting for the refund. Some say 4 wks after the final. hrrrmmmpphh we'll see about that
It's not "some" say it's FIFA says in their T&C. Let me know how you're going to see about that as if you can extract payment from FIFA in a shorter period I think many others in a similar position to you will be interested.
Looking back at my credit card statements, in 2006 I got resale proceeds from FIFA pretty soon after the tickets were resold and I got a refund from US Soccer for the conditional tickets on July 13th. FIFA has figured out a better way to capture the float this time around.
I'm not so worried about ticket refunds (at least there's some sort of information in that regard about when payments will be processed). Four weeks is annoying and needless, but it's not that ridiculous. I also had the misfortune to cancel some accommodation through Match and there's pretty much no information provided about that at all - no payment date, no information about whether the room was resold or anything else. I happen to know from contacting the hotel directly that the room was resold, but Match provide no information.
Sold back my USA slovenia tickets. $160 - $14 = 130 or so after who knows what else fees. Still no money. 1 week to go according to FIFA's policy. I am not holding out any hope, however
Still no money What is worse, is that the card I made payment with no longer exists as it was replaced with a more recent one. So I expect an even longer wait
The phone number on the cover letter of the ticket package I received is: +27-(0)11567-2700. I also have a couple of e-mail addresses to which I have made inquiries: enquiries@2010fwctc.com and pma-supporters@2010fwctc.com. I haven't received my refund either. The longer they hold on to your cash, the more money they make....
I sent an e-mail to PMA-Supporters@2010fwctc.com yesterday and got a responce. They told me that if I had not recieved a refund by August 15, I should contact them again at the above e-mail address. Hope this helps.
Did anybody else get this email? What the hell do they mean by "confirming the status of the Tickets that you have returned for resale"? The status better be SOLD like it has shown for the past 2mths or else....... We are writing to you with regard to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ match tickets that you submitted for possible resale via the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ Ticket Transfer Platform on www.fifa.com/2010. The 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre is currently processing refunds for those customers whose Tickets were successfully resold via the Ticket Transfer Platform. You will receive next week a communication confirming the status of the Tickets that you have returned for resale. Yours sincerely, 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre
I had the email too. Presumably it means that they are not going to be making refunds in the specified time frame. That's FIFA for you.
Also received the same clear as mud email. At least we now have a time frame for Fifa's next communication.
Just logged into my bank account and noticed fifa have refunded 1 of my ticket resales today. Bad news is fifa refund to the credit card which you originally bought the tickets with. (i had removed this card from my fifa.com account)
The e-mail struck me as the sort of meaningless thing they would send out at a deadline to try and make it look like they were doing something. It's pretty much been four weeks after the final, they haven't processed any (or certainly the majority) of refunds so they think "quick, send some e-mail out so people think we're working on it". The e-mail itself doesn't tell you anything as far as I can see.
Over/under on next email - August 20th (which is the end of the "next" week) Surprised they haven't taken this off the website yet... When will I receive the proceeds from the resale? If your Tickets are resold, resale proceeds will be provided no later than 4 weeks following the final match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.
So where did the money go? Your new cc? I am asking because my cc number changed too since I bought the tickets and I was wondering what was going to happen.
No - refunded to my old CC which I originally bought the tickets with. I bought tickets from 6 different CC during various sale stages. Before the WC I linked all my orders to the one CC so pickup was easier and I didn't have to take so many CC's to South Africa. Only one of my resales was refunded, I still have 3 pending....
