Well, things like this are exactly the reason I don't get along with the "prominent" local fans I know.

I don't just believe what the club says. I like to think for myself.

When it comes to BVB, I don't accept it when it is a clear day and then the club pisses on my head and tells me it is raining.

Since I don't fall in line when I know the club is wrong and since I let my criticisms be heard, I'm "not a true fan" or I'm "disloyal."

I say f#ck them. They can't tell me I'm not a "true fan" because I don't bow to their standards.

I had to most respect for the local fans when those fans whistled (booed) Valdez off the pitch.

That night, Valdez totally deserved to be whistled off.

For once, those fans showed their true feelings when their faith was pushed past the limit.

And what does the club do? It sets out on a pressure campaign designed to SHAME those fans and basically force them into cheering for this sorry bastard citing "loyalty."

What the f#ck about "loyalty" to those fans who pay their hard-earned money to get in to see this team every second week??

    What about "loyalty" to them??!!

They finally got tired of this guy running around like crazy, but being UNPRODUCTIVE!!!

And what has changed since then?

    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Just that the fans are afraid they'll be branded as "disloyal" if they show their true feelings.

These people are such "sheep" that they allowed themselves to be "brainwashed" into liking this sorry f#cker.

You can bet BVB Management had an agenda too. You can bet they were thinking, "If they turned on him, how long before they turn on us??

    Do you know why?

Because Nelson Valdez is still this management team's "record purchase."

That's right. Valdez cost more than Frei, Petric, Barrios, Zidan, Hummels, Subotic and Kuba. All players who have joined BVB either with Valdez (Frei) or after Valdez and who are all well more productive or were well more productive than Valdez!

And do you know why BVB management has finally realized it is "safe" for them to get rid of Valdez?

Because the idiots claiming we will miss his "fighting spirit", "passion" and "effort" seem to forget that we're getting that from KEVIN GROSSKREUTZ now!

    And Grosskreutz is actually PRODUCTIVE!!

Grosskreutz had 5 goals and 3 assists in 32 appearances for BVB last season.

And of those 32 appearances, Grosskreutz played less than 10 minutes in four of them. He played exactly 20 minutes in two of them, less than 20 minutes in another two and more than 20 minutes, but less than 30 minutes in another two of them.

So if you wanted to get technical, you can say he had those numbers in 22 "quality appearances."

It took Valdez 57 appearances over two full seasons and the opening match of his third season to match those numbers!!

If those Valdez-supporting morons want to give you any shit, ask them about those numbers!

The "true" and "loyal" BVB fans HATE IT when I bring up things like that when telling them they've been brainwashed.

They ask me why I say such "hurtful" things (Cris, a guy on our list asked me that one time I met him face-to-face).

I say them because they are TRUE!!

When people say "the truth hurts", they aren't lying!

And too many BVB fans just like to listen to whatever the club says. As long as the club says it is good, then all is good.

Even if on a clear day, they piss on your head and tell you it is raining........

Nelson Valdez needs to go. Let him take his UNPRODUCTIVE "passion" and "effort" somewhere else.

I'll always like the kid. He's not a bad kid. I'll cheer for him wherever he goes.

He's just not a very productive player. Teams who want to win don't need unproductive players such as him taking up space and salary.

My German is rusty so I don't get to see any interviews with local Dortmund supporters nor tv announcers or players.

I will just go by what I have seen watching Spanish announcers broadcasting Dortmund Bundesliga matches.

That is I do not like Valdez, he can go anywhere else for all I care.:)

Olympique Marseille is the latest club being linked with a move for Nelson Valdez.

The German press is speculating that Marseille and Spanish Primera Division promotees Hercules Alicante are the most likely destinations for Valdez.

BVB Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke said in kicker he hopes the situation will be resolved by the end of this week.

In a seperate kicker interview, Lucas Barrios was asked if BVB will regret getting rid of Nelson Valdez.

Barrios said: "Nelson is a great player and he is my friend. He helped very much during my start in Dortmund. Therefore, it is for purely personal reasons when I say I am sad he is to leave. However, I will not comment on his sporting reasons given."

kicker asked Barrios if he understands why Valdez is being sold and Barrios said:

"This is not within my control. I do know if Nelson does leave, he will find his place at a great club."

Looks to me like Barrios is trying to be loyal to his friend and the club.

And that's what I would expect him to do.

I'm so glad he's not going to Hercules.

Seriously, he's not a scoring machine but he's still so much better then freakin Hercules.

Marseille or Fulham would be good places for him.

Eh: Marseille is the current French champion and is a consistent team in the CL.

His club scoring rate simply does not warrant interest from any relevant teams.

Because he doesn't score in the Bundesliga doesn't mean he wouldn't do well in the French league.

Santa Cruz was worthless with Bayern and yet went on to become one of the top scorers in the premiership, a league that's considered more competitive then the Bundesliga.

Yeah Valdez is not Santa Cruz but the French league is not the Bundesliga either.

My argument is more aimed at the idea that he's not good enough for the striker pos. in Europe. He would be more succesful as a winger or somewhere in the middle, what with his awesome workrate and all.

I agree with this. Valdez could do well in a league with weaker defenses or a more open style of play than in Germany.

I don't think he'll ever be a "star" anywhere, but he could do well outside of Germany.

However, I don't know that he'll ever stop shitting his pants in front of the net, no matter what league he plays in.

You're wrong on two counts here. One, Santa Cruz wasn't "worthless" at Bayern. They kept buying strikers to play ahead of him and didn't concentrate on developing him well enough.

The other thing is that the Premiership is not "more competitive" than the Bundesliga. The Premiership has more "star players", is considered the most popular (due to nearly world-wide TV exposure) and is considered by many to be the most ENTERTAINING league in the world.

However, it is not the "most competitive" by a long shot. Actually, the "most competitive" league in Europe is the GERMAN BUNDESLIGA!

Which one has averaged the most goals per match over the past three seasons?

    Yeah, that's right.

    THE GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

No thanks to Nelson Valdez, but that is a fact.

BTW, how many Premiership players "shined" during the World Cup? That number is very small, if any.

Most of the big names out of the Premiership were huge disappointments at the World Cup.

Why? Because they don't play the "football" the rest of the world plays in the Premiership. They play more of a free-wheeling style for the TV cameras.

This is also true. And as I said, Valdez COULD do well there.

But just because the French League is perceived as "weaker" than the Bundesliga, it doesn't mean Valdez WILL do well there.

He has a problem not only with shitting his pants in front of the net, Valdez is what I call a "tactical moron."

He runs all over the place and has almost unlimited energy, but he doesn't have a f#cking clue of how to use his effort and energy EFFECTIVELY!!

One of his biggest problems his entire time with us is that he's almost NEVER where he's supposed to be, when he's supposed to be there.

All the things Valdez does do well would make him an excellent defensive midfielder, not an excellent striker.

I wish Nelson Valdez the best of luck wherever he goes. I hope he proves us all wrong.

However, until he learns to play the game smarter and more effectively, I think he'll always be a disappointment and failure in the European game.

Except in England or Scotland. I think he would actually succeed in one of those two leagues.

You don't have to be a smart player to succeed in those two leagues.

His "awesome workrate" means f#ck all because he doesn't know how to be EFFECTIVE with that "awesome workrate".

Let me put it to you this way.

Suppose a guy is by far the fastest runner in the world, but he can never win a race because he just somehow can't stay in his lane and is all over the place while his opponents stay in their lanes and are slower, but run faster times.

There you have Valdez. He is one of the best "workers" in the world in my opinion.

However, his work is hardly EFFECTIVE.

If his work isn't effective, then what good is he?

I know this. My comments were of a general nature to further make the point.

I'll remember to put a disclaimer on my comments the next time.

BTW, I'm happy you seem to believe I'm either so stupid I can't see we believe the same thing or you think I'm so looking for a fight that I agreed with you in a "disagreeing tone" just to be argumentative.

    Thanks.

Dude, you're much more "BigSoccer Savvy" than I am. I read your comments. I don't look at the "title".

I usually know what thread I'm in, so I don't read it.

Anyhow, my apologies. We agree. That's the main thing.

It doesn't matter what rumors come out. BVB isn't selling Barrios.

With the money Juventus or anyone else would have to spend to get Barrios, they could also get Huntelaar or Luis Fabiano.

Meaning, it would take a stupidly high offer to get BVB to sell.

And even then, I think BVB is too close to the Europa League playoffs to make a deal.

Kicker is reporting that the Valdez deal is nearly done!!!

    Dortmund: Striker Heading To Spain

    Valdez About To Move

Their Paths Are Separating: Nelson Valdez (L),
shown here with BVB-Coach Jürgen Klopp, is
    heading to Spain.

The transfer of Nelson Valdez (26) to Spanish Primera Division promotees Hercules Alicante is imminent.

    YES!!!! :D

According to information received by kicker, details only need to be cleared up before the Borussia Dortmund (BVB) striker heads for Spain for approximately four million Euros.

Valdez moved from Werder Bremen to BVB in 2006 for 4.7 million Euros. However, Valdez was never able to meet expectations at BVB. As a result, BVB signed new offensive talent this summer in Robert Lewandowski from Lech Posen (Poland) and Shinji Kagawa of Cerezo Osaska (Japan).

As early as May, BVB coach Jürgen Klopp suggested a transfer for the Paraguayan striker, telling kicker, “A change of scenery would do him well.”

Nelson Valdez first appeared in German football with Werder Bremen back in 2001. Since then, he has made 193 Bundesliga appearances for Bremen and Dortmund, amassing 36 goals.

Valdez is a Paraguyan international and participated in World Cup 2006 and World Cup 2010 for his country.

Hercules Alicante were promoted from the Spanish Second Division to the Spanish Primera Division this past season. However, another club, Costa Blanca has raised suspicions that Hercules Alicante reached this achievement through “unfair means.”

    +++++++++++++++++++

What am I most happy about besides Valdez leaving??

I'm most happy that we seem to be getting 4M for him.

At least this will not have been a total loss.

All the best to Valdez if he does make this move.

I hope he tears up the league in Spain.

The Match-Fixing Allegation Tainting Spanish Soccer

As Spain continues to revel in reigning supreme after lifting soccer's World Cup in South Africa last month, a match-fixing allegation is threatening to overshadow the start of the country's top domestic league.

The scandal surfaced when the main shareholder of second division team Hercules was allegedly caught on tape boasting that he paid €100,000 to the goalkeeper of the opposition side Cordoba to throw a match in May.

This game was critical to the Alicante based outfit's eventual promotion to La Liga, which boasts some of the world's greatest teams and players such as Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo. Hercules won 4-0 and moved up to the top flight, finishing runners-up behind Real Sociedad, following more than a decade in the second division.

    BAD NEWS!!!

No New News In The Valdez Transfer Situation

Nelson Valdez will not be on Borussia Dortmund's 18-man roster for the German Cup match at Wacker Burghausen. Coach Jürgen Klopp confirmed this news at the end of his Thursday conference on Thursday.

However, BVB Director of Sport, Michael Zorc, also made it clear that a Valdez transfer IS NOT IMMINENT!

The fact that Valdez is looking for a new club is well known. Negotiations with Spanish Primera Division promotees Hercules Alicante have been previously confirmed by Zorc.

However, on Thursday, Zorc said: "There have been no changes in negotiations and therefore still no decision. The situation is not as the Spanish media would have you believe. There is no transfer imminent."
