Yeah. 31 August is the last day players with valid contracts can be moved.

Of course, players who are out of contract, (read: unemployed) can sign with any club anytime.

Schwatzgelb.de: Valdez And Kringe On The Transfer Rumours

Nelson Valdez and Florian Kringe are (besides Dimitar Rangelov) the players most likely to leave BVB before the start of the season. Both Valdez and Kringe have only slim chances to start next season, but are on well payed contracts that run for two more years. The BVB management has made it clear, that the wage budget must be cut further before next season and that Borussia is willing to sell these players, if they get adequate offers for them.

wouldn't it be better to accept a very low transfer fee, and get their rather large contracts off the books for the next 2 years. Or by adequate offer is that what they mean?

    Full Valdez Interview:

What sucks is that he's right. We can't just make him leave.

    Read on.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Nelson Valdez: No One Can Just Dump Me!

Nelson Valdez: ” I will not run away like a small child!

    Original interview by Sascha Fligge

It has all come down to a confrontation! Dortmund striker Nelson Valdez (26) has changed his mind and will now fight to stay with Borussia Dortmund.

The club has exceeded the planned personnel budget of 35 Million Euros by approximately two million euros. They still plan to erase that deficit by selling the Paraguayan striker. Valdez begins training with the team on Monday. We reached him by telephone.

RN: You sound tired. Did we wake you?

Nelson Valdez: No, I am wide awake. The return trip from Paraguay over Asuncion, Montevideo and Madrid was extremely exerting. It was 25 hours altogether and we are glad to finally be back here.

RN: Your own management team spoke of four offers for you. Two respectable offers are said to have been made to BVB through intermediaries. When will you be packing your bags again?

Valdez: To this point, nothing points to anything happeing quickly. I only read about these offers myself, so nothing is concrete except that I am here now. In the next few days, I'll talk with the coach and see if my sporting situation here is still anything worthwhile.

****My Comment: That's funny. He was talking shit like he actually received some offers.

RN: And if it is not, will you then leave Borussia?

Valdez: I did not say that. I have a valid contract for two more years. Remember, the past year was a disaster for my family and me. Our house burned down, our dog died and we moved three times. Now, we have a rented a new place in Unna where my wife and children are happy. I have to consider this.

***My Comment: I read that to mean: "Shit, no one else will pay me like I get paid here! I'd better play the 'family' card!"

RN: But you said yourself you name is now "tarnished" in Germany.

Valdez: I have said that and I was correct. But I gained self-confidence during the World Cup. I plan to fight for a place here again. I will not run away like a small child!

***My Comment: No one did more to "tarnish his name" than Nelson Valdez himself. BVB has given him more chances than any player who had produced as little as he has deserves.

RN: At present, the transfer budget deficit at BVB is stil about five million Euros. The club's goal is clearly to eliminate that deficit. The transfer balance of the BVB is at present still negative (approx. minus five million euros). The club sat down it to the goal of reducing the minus clearly. What, if it renews the desire for their parting?

Valdez: If I do not wish to leave, no one can force me to leave the club. No one can just dump me in such a way! If my qualities and talent aren't enough to help Dortmund, then I would have to think about leaving, but this is not the case.

***My Comment: Again, with the first part of the response, he is right. We can't force him to leave and we can't afford to just dump him or buyout his contract. However, his "qualities and talent", as he put it have already been proven not to be enough to "help" us.

In four full seasons and 113 Bundesliga appearances for BVB, Valdez has a total of 16 goals and 10 assists.

Just last season, Lucas Barrios, in 33 Bundesliga appearances had 19 goals and 5 assists.

In his two seasons with us, Mohamed Zidan has made 56 Bundesliga apperances. That is almost exactly half the number Valdez has.

Yet, Zidan has 13 goals and 9 assists during that period.

And now there's Lewandowski to contend with.

Valdez really believes his "qualities and talent" are enough?

If he does, he's living in a f#cking fantasy world.

He wants to stay because he knows no one wants him who will pay him like he gets paid here.

Actually, with the comments Valdez himself made in this interview, I wouldn't doubt that there are not any good offers for him.

If Valdez was a "hometown hero" like Lars Ricken was, he wouldn't need to leave. He could just "ride the gravy train" until he retires just like Ricken did.

The thing is, part of me admired Ricken for what he got out of such little effort late in his career. I admire Ricken for what he's done after his career. Valdez, I just feel sorry for right now.

I can't blame him for saying he wants to fight for a place on this team and that he can still help the team. I can't blame Valdez for stressing that the club can't make him leave. That is correct and it is club management's fault for extending with the sorry mother f#cker in the first place. I feel sorry for Valdez because the writing has been on the wall since before the end of last season. I feel sorry for Valdez because it seems to be finally hitting him that he isn't the player he thinks he is.

We already know we have two strikers on the roster better than Valdez. We are all hoping Lewandowski will be the third. Valdez isn't much better than Rangelov. Hell, I would venture to say that Rangelov could put up the same numbers or numbers better than Valdez's given the same amount of playing time.

I do believe Nelson Valdez loves Borussia Dortmund. What player wouldn't like a place where the managment FORCES the fans to cheer for him even when they CORRECTLY boo/whistle him??

I can't blame Valdez for wanting to stay and cash in on the contract BVB management so STUPIDLY gave him.

However, I hope Valdez turns out to be man enough to realize that it is time for he and BVB to go their seperate ways. I hope Valdez realizes that forcing BVB to keep him although he's been surpassed will make more people than just me lose any semblance of respect for him.

For the record, I was a person who defended his sorry ass when we bought him. I thought we paid too much, but thought he might show that in the end, he would be worth paying a bit too much for.

And in the end, he made me and everyone else who defended him feel sorry that we did.

What a f#cking waste. He should just go.

His salary isn't that "large", but it is one of the highest on the team.

And no, it isn't better to accept a very low fee for him.

BVB has a seperate transfer budget they need to balance.

I believe they need to get at least 3M-3.5M for him. Then losing his salary might make a difference.

But 3M isn't considered a "very low transfer fee."

If they can't get 5M for Valdez, they might consider selling him at 3M-4M and try to get at least another .5M-1M for Rangelov, Kringe or Feulner.

However, they'd like to balance the transfer budget just by selling Valdez.

this whole transfer window just got that lil bit depressing .. he knows hes not wanted ... so why not do all he can to go ?? (has he been told as such like kringe)

i guess rangelov may be more likely to go sooner than valdez now ((

i dont need to say much except footy u got it all :)

i wonder if he himself still considers himself a "striker" with that lame strike rate
label him as an attacking(i think thats the word i mean) mid as such like say misimovic (just for example)

and the lack of goals may be a lil more paletable
but considering hes been one of the main strikers the past years ... its not good enough at all and what drugs were they on when they offered him extended terms and more money ...

    ring ring ring ring
zorc : hello whos this ?
    mystery caller : its hindsight
zorc : ah what u want
    hindsight: its about valdez
    zorc: what abt him
    hindsight : :

I believe he makes 2M or 2.5M. I don't believe he makes 3M. I think Kehl is the highest-paid player on the team and he makes around 3M.

Yeah, Valdez knows they want him gone. That's why he's panicking like he is.

No. Rangelov would probably only go if they don't get enough for Valdez.

    Thanks! :)

He can't go that route. Misimovic is a true "old-style" #10 in the mold of our former great Andreas Moeller.

Actually, I said in Valdez's first season that he might be better off as a midfielder. He's a shit striker, but he would be valuable in disrupting opponents' games in midfield.

But Valdez is a striker. He's mostly played as a striker and he has insisted he is still one.

No way. Again, Valdez doesn't play that position. Zidan did last year and put up numbers better than Valdez has in any season he's had with us.

He didn't get a pay raise Just more years. I think they were stupid enough to believe he was making progress.

Well, when you look at what the guys at Bayern, Wolfsburg, Bremen, HSV, and Scheisse make, that's pretty cheap.

The top names at BVB all make around the same amount of money.

EDIT: A good friend/source just told me Valdez makes closer to 1.8M per season.

Why are we looking at getting rid of Rangelov? Is Klopp not happy with him? I thought we just got him last season/

Dude, are you not reading all that's written here?

It would be to balance the transfer budget.

They wound up paying more for Lewandowski than they wanted to.

So you guys won't be signing anyone else then even if Valdez leaves? Who exactly has come in to the team (if someone doesn't mind) this transfer season?

No. Robert Lewandowski (Polish International) is Valdez's replacement.

Robert Lewandowski (POL), Striker, 21, Lech Posen 4.5M Euros

Lukasz Piszczek (POL), Right Back/Right Midfield, 25, Hertha, Free Transfer

Mitchell Langerak (AUS), Goalkeeper, 21, Melbourne Victory, 500,000 Euros

Shinji Kagawa (Japan), Offensive Midfielder, Cerezo Osaka, 350,000 Euros

Lewandowski, Piszczek and Kagawa are all current internationals. Many believe Langerak would have been Schwarzer's backup at this World Cup for the Aussies, but he apparently suffered an injury before the tournament.

Lasse Sobiech (central defense) and Daniel Ginzeck (striker), both 19 and both currently Germany U19 internationals, are the only players brought up from BVB II who did not see action with the Bundesliga side last season

Looks like Klopp wants to burn money and sign 32-year old da Silva. Ugh.

Are you referring to that speculation from Ruhr Nachrichten or has something else come out?

And to be perfectly honest, at this point, I'd rather have da Silva than Hajnal's sorry ass.

    But we don't need both.

It becomes more and more concrete though. After all, he should have left our training camp weeks ago. And getting so much playing time (he was subbed in before Stiepermann, Hornschuh and another player against Munich, which kinda sucks in my opinion) is quite...let's say "unusual".

    it's frightening :D

    Who says??

Maybe he's outplaying Hajnal in training and during training matches.

    What's "unusual" about it??

    Why does it "suck?"

Stiepermann is a striker. Lewandowski played the entire match.

Hornschuh is a central defender. Hummels played most of the match.

What in the heck does either of them not playing have to do with da Silva?

Do you think Klopp was going to put them in midfield???

da Silva is getting the minutes in midfield ZIDAN would be getting.

And it didn't stop the young player who does matter at this position, Mario Götze, from getting his playing time either.

So what are you on about here? Is there just something you don't like about da Silva?

No, he's not a great player, but he's no worse than Hajnal and I think da Silva is actually better than Hajnal.

Not to me. I'll take da Silva over sorry ass Hajnal any day.

As far as I'm concerned, Hajnal can just f#ck off back to Schiesse where he started.

And as I said before, I had already read the RN piece. It was just speculation.

"he shows fighting spirit" , "passion and effort" etc those are reasons im seeing on other forums from fans as reasons valcant-dont-wont score should stay with bvb

how to some is that alone for him reason to yet for other players has no effect what so ever ?? valdez is being given by some the same cult status dede is getting ... BUT there is a big difference!!!

any money the club can get on valdez is a bonus .. and worth losing his "effort" ach oh my :D

at the rate his support is going if some fans got a chance theyd make him captain for his "stance"

Any here have any thoughts on the way we look and how we are playing. Keith, I recall you saying that you weren't too satisfied with what you saw the other day, especially in Lewan and Kagawa.
