A new place to discuss the transfer rumors that are bound be rampant after the World Cup Final.

Especially those concerning Valdez, Subotic and the Fussballgott forbid, Barrios!

My Internet Security software blocks that site.

I called a buddy up in the Dortmund region about this.

It took him a minute or two to stop laughing.

Then he told me that even if they are planning to offer 12M for Barrios, Zorc will laugh at the caller way he laughed at me.

That's what you can tell your friend. They'll get laughed at.

That is, unless they want to invest about half that amount in buying the other Paraguay striker on our roster........ ;)

Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are allegedly planning a move for Dinamo Bucharest attacker Gabriel Torje, if reports from Romanian source ProSport are to be believed.

Dortmund have already exhausted their alloted transfer funds with the signing of Robert Lewandowski, but if Paraguayan forward Nelson Valdez is sold, the Ruhr side may make a bid for Torje.

The Romanian side allegedly want €2.5 million for their rising star, who is under contract until 2013. Due to financial trouble, Dinamo may be forced to sell Torje, in which case Dortmund will have more leverage to dictate the terms of the transfer.

Torje, 20, is captain of the Romanian U-21 national team, and has been likened to a young Tamas Hajnal.

wtf is this guy? any1 even heard of him? or is this another one of those bullshit rumours?

    Yes, another bullshit rumor.

These people just assume that if we sell Valdez, we'll have to buy a replacement.

The stupid f#ckers don't get that Lewandowski is Valdez's replacement.

BVB will not buy another striker if Valdez leaves.

Well, if we were looking, those are the only players we can afford.

BVB was interested in Lewandowski before the rest of the world caught on too.

I guess that's my way of saying the scouting department is improving.

However, I think they still seem to focus on some areas too much and on other areas not enough.

But, I do believe that also could very well be driven by the club's financial situation.

i would say footy is dead on right on any rumoured strikers .. i was looking on bvb mannschaft page have sturm/ strikers? there are 8 listed .. well 9 including valdez ;)
any newcomer would be just overkill/overfill

theres also 8 mids and 9 defenders..

there are a few young ones form bvb 2

so once valdez is gone .. the money would go to back into the club ?

valdez at the mo though does seem to be a potential cash cow of investment into the club :D best thing he will have done for the team .. his transfer fee :D hehe

i see too all the subo rumours seem to have been indeed just that . they all seem to have dies down

The PSV rumors just hit here today. But you can bet Valdez's agent has not brought any real offers to BVB.

BVB has made it clear the bidding will start at 5M Euros.

Of course, we're hoping to get more, so the more interest, the better for us.

As I said, Lewandowski is Valdez's replacement. We are more than full at striker.

I believe that money would go toward the stadium debt, which is still pretty massive.

Yes, it will be. It would have been even better if that goal he scored against Spain would have counted.

    But I know why I didn't.......

If his agent has any real offers, they will present them to BVB when he returns to the club for training tomorrow.

I think there will be interest in Subotic, but I believe BVB won't sell him for less than 20M Euros.

hearing valdez on skysports news this morning made me smile ))) from the interview steve bruce gave id say there is concrete interest )) and according to the mirror another bid of 4.2 mil form sunderland is expected to be made) even more fun is the amusement i get from a sunderland fan i know who is excited about the prospect of valdez to the question "is he as good as i have heard?" .. i smiled .. who knows what he has been hearing i dare not burst the bubble .. i think he probably has heard of national team valdez and not club valdez

and as i type this the announcer says "steve bruce expects to make at least 2 new signings before season starts" (could one be valdez) ...if santa grants my wish i promise to consider being good

Well, to be honest, if there is a league Valdez can succeed in, it is the Premiership.

There, being supremely fit and being able to run forever is just as important, if not more important than actual talent.

But unless 4.2M Pounds equals 5M Euros or more, BVB will not take this offer.

BVB is looking for a minimum of 5M Euros and if there is as much interest in Valdez as he claims there is, we'll get that money and maybe more.

Would the money generated from his sale also go towards paying off the stadium debt?

Not all of it. They would find another defender to come in and either fight for Subotic's spot or back up Santana, who would move into Subotic's spot.

A kid who comes to mind is Mainz's Niko Bungert.

Says here that Lucas believes he's linked with Milan, Fiorentina, Man City and Naples (Napoli).

The thing is, I think if by "they", he means the media, he'll definitely be a BVB player next season.

If offers do come for him, I hope BVB won't even start to listen until the transfer fee hits 17M.

    Why?

Because clubs who come for Barrios are more than likely coming for him because they can't get a striker valued at 20M + like Luis Fabiano.

And it is going to be much harder for us to find a good striker to come in and fill that spot if they sell Barrios.

I really think it is going to take a "silly" offer to get BVB to part with Barrios.
