See what dcunitedTV just said. I already bet you a million dollars on something else you were wrong about so let's go double or nothing.
You've been babbling the same thing for the past few years.....It's also nice to see how much credibility you have on the ACSTL boards too....
There it is folks.. you're fingers to our eyes. You come through and your word is good and stance around here go up's ten fold. You're wrong.... you walk, for good. No exscuses taken, aside from the league folding and closing up shop. I quit match, clock is ticking.... better get an extra job to pay for all of these franchises.
Rich: You know NOTHING about the AC STL situation. The problem with SOME of their fans is that they can't handle the true facts. I stated 3 years that Jeff Cooper didn't have the money to run a pro soccer team, and many people just didn't want to believe that statement. They still don't. They all blamed Don Garber and MLS. Some of those people finally came around and have now turned their backs on Cooper.
Did I say that I did? The only point I am making is that you have the innate ability to make a dick of yourself on every board you post on.
Dallas will not have an MISL team this year. I received confirmation on this today. Sonny Williams, who was looking into bringing a team back, advised the MISL that he was unable to bring the Sidekicks back. The issue for Dallas is arena economics. For the proposed business plan to be successful, the Sidekicks would need an 8K seat arena with weekend dates available. The AAC does not have Friday-Saturday-Sunday dates during hockey and basketball seasons. Frisco's Dr. Pepper Arena only seats 3,500-4,000 for hockey. The weekend dates will be split between NAHL hockey and NBDL basketball this fall. The Allen Event Center is 6,200 permanent seats in hockey configuration (so count about 5,800 for indoor) Moody Coliseum can not fit a regulation indoor soccer field even if the city of University Park would allow it. Fair Park sold all it's dasherboard equipment to the Austin Ice Bats back in the mid 1990's. It also only seats about 7,500. The Dallas Convention Center Arena can not fit a regulation indoor field either. It also only seats 7,400 in basketball configuration. In short, there is no place to play that would allow the team to turn a profit. As much as I would love to have the team back, professional Division One indoor soccer in the Metroplex is dead.
Funny how they didn't know this in February when they told the commish they are in or, at the championship game when Jago was there to tell them that they were in, or the Chicago meetings when Jago and Williams were there to tell them they were in (and approved by the other owners), etc, etc...I believe Alan's post, but the reasoning makes no sense (with the timing). They could have said no months ago. Whatever it is, morons on both sides of the equation.
What strikes me as most odd, why would they base a business strategy dependent on drawing more fans than anyone in the industry. I believe the posts, I only know what I read here, but if the plan was to need 8k in the stands when no one else is doing that, the plan was seriously flawed coming out of the box.
Peter Wilt and the Milwaukee Wave can only draw maybe 3,200 per game and 5,000 for the MILS championship. What was Dallas thinking!!!
One thing to be said for an 8,000 seat arena is you can draw 8,000 and 4,000 and average 6,000, but it a 6,000 seat arena you will probably draw 6,000 and 3,000 and average 4,500. But if they need to AVERAGE 8,000 that isn't going to happen anywhere.
Well Syd you can breathe easy.....the Outlaws and their 319 fans per game are not in any danger of being overcome by the "beast of the MISL past" Now if we could get rid of those nasty KC MISL rumors the Kings will be able to prosper again in the Soccer Dome.
Ray...someday you must explain to me why you have this raging hard on for the PASL....you never gave me any grief like this when I was doing the AISL....
No disrespect Mr. Moderator, but I take full exception to this unresearched, false, anti-MISL propaganda that you are putting out. It is false in the highest sense of the word. The MISL, like a lot of the other soccer leagues and federations around the world are on hiatus, because of the World Cup. The MISL has held off any announcements as to not upstage and /or compete with the World Cup. I find that noble and classy. Why would Dallas file for reinstatement into the league, having all the information about the available arenas, than all of a sudden "realize" that there is no suitable arena. Hogwash. SHAME
It strikes me off as well, that why I find it hard to believe. Just because the PASL-Pro calls itself Pro, doesn't make it Pro. Don't believe everything you read.
If Dallas doesn't return, it has nothing to do with the available arenas. NOTHING. You're a smart man and you are connecting the dots like Blastnut2 and myself. It doesn't make sense because maybe, just maybe it's not true. The MISL has held off all announcements as to not upstage and/or compete with the World Cup. Noble and classy. Just because the PASL-Pro calls itself Pro, doesn't make it Pro. Don't believe everything you read.
I turn my cheek and look away - I read and move on serenity now - serenity now although "upstage the world cup" who is he kidding??? How many people really care about indoor that it would effect world cup viewers?? I am smelling the roses without touching the thorns my good friends
