I think Germany could take Ghana. Ghana drew with Australia, I don't see them drawing with Germany let alone beating Germany. Did Australia play with ten men or eleven? I didn't watch the game. I'm still kinda confused on the red card suspension. I know the player is suspended from the next game but can his team play someone else in his place

Germany were down one man because of that terrible ref for most of the time and should still have won that game. I fancy Germanys chances to beat Ghana unless that spanish ref destroys that game as well. (If FIFA wants to retain some credibility they will not let him officiate another WC Game ever.)

Germany hardly looked like they were going to win the match with Serbia even before they went down to 10 men. It was looking like a 0:0 draw up until then.

And what's with blaming the referee? The ref set up some ground rules and the Germans didn't follow them. They only have themselves to blame and should've just stuck with what the ref wanted.

Ghana were without their first choice defenders and when Vorsah and Mensah are back in the team there won't be as much errors in the backline. Plus Ghana play much better on the counterattack. They hate having to attack like in the Australia game.

Has anyone really noticed the bad reffing going on? Germany would have won no doubt if it wasn't for that moron of a ref. He gave out 9 yellows and a red card. too trigger happy.

Re: 23 June 2010 Germany vs Ghana

Ghanaian problem is game without chances. Ghana is trying to control midfield and wait for opponents mistake, but even against weaken Australia they haven't had much of a chances. Their best chance to win that game was destroyed by that selfish Muntari's shot in stopping time. (WTF was that?)

On the other hand Germany scored 4 goals against Australia and had several good chances against Serbia. Germany is offensively much more dangerous team.

Ghana, on the other hand is better team in defense, not just because of back line, but because of their midfield players are more defensively orientated then German are. Point of their game will be to stop Podolski, Oezil and Muller and to press German central backs as Serbia did. Also, problem for Ghana will be Cacau because he is faster then Klose and Ghanaian defense in not that fast.

Germany have to control the ball. Possession is their game. They have to push Ghana on their half of the pitch. Duels that will decide this match are Muller-Sarpei and Podolski- Paintsil .

I read on my Ghana forum that Paintsil is injured. Hopefully Ghana have their first choice central defenders back.

Yes, small teams tend to use the big words before playing Germany in a World Cup, but in the end the german team always delivers when the pressure is high and the next round is at stake. I'm pretty sure they'll beat Ghana quite easily - 2:0 or 3:0, like Cameroon 2002. I still hope Ghana will advance, as I'ld like to see some african teams in the next rounds.
Concerning the Serbia-game: Sure, Klose did really bad with his foul despite having seen the refs first decisions. On the other hand it's anoying to see all these other games at the WC were a foul like Klose's happens 1000 times and no one gets a booking for that. Despite Kloses stupidity there's other teams at this WC that get their way with fouls like that.
Furthermore it was obvious that the serbian goal was scored when the german players were still distracted (2-3 minutes after the suspension). Before the suspension, the german team was absolutely in controll.
We'll know better on wednesday. I will apologize here if Ghana can rise to upset Germany - my opinion right now: easy win Germany.

Germany just have to watch some Egypt games and copy their tactics , they are raping every team from the western Africa in the African cup regulary .
I predict a win for Germany beocuse they can match Ghana's players fizicaly and with pace and with that are better tehnicaly skilled .
It seemes Germany has troubles against tehnicaly better teams ,Ghana is surely not one of them .

There are no easy games in the World Cup, this is no exception. Could go either way in my opinion. Barring any more refereeing errors this will come down to who wants it more.

Im predicting a totally peed off and desperate German team winning 3-0. Remember they need to win and they still dominated Serbia with 10 men.

He will, like everyone, turn on TV and watch the match.

By the way, why do you forget that Lukovic got red card in Ghana game for similar thing that Klose did?

Refereeing on this World Cup is strict and every team will suffer because of it.

Although Australia played terribad, you could see them backing off even more after Cahills Red. There was no real firm stance on the calls and it confused the Aussies more. No one knew what the new standard was and no one wanted to test the waters. Ah interesting times a head!

correct me if i am wrong, Ghana has not scored in the flow of play yet. I watched the Ghana game and Germany game. Germany looked the better squad without a man than Ghana did with a man up against the aussies. Germany wins 3-1

Why is losing Klose a good thing? On this stage he shows the best of his talent. It's also worth noting that he has the most international caps amongst all the German national team players. Aside from Ballack, Klose is quite literally the entire German veteran leadership.

Having said that I feel as though Germany has enough poise and young talent to win the match against Ghana.

I think in a way it is good. His form has really been dreadful. Aside from the goal he scored against Australia, he continues to miss golden opportunities. You just can't afford to miss goals at this level and that is what he's been doing. Cacau is in form and even though he's had to come off the bench, he has shown that he has a lot to offer and given the opportunity, he will score.
I think the loss of Klose for this game will give Cacau an opportunity to start and show that he is capable of finishing any decent chance.
