So when/where is Richardson buying Paladini that dinner he now owes him? I swear that was the worst PK attempt I've ever seen. Richardson was damn lucky to get away with it against Tampa Bay, but to try it again in the very next game? What the hell was he thinking? Other than that, I thought Carolina played a good game and deserved the win. Reed gets my MotM nod for some great saves, and Schulte (or, Chute as he's know in Puerto Rico) was solid in defense, again.
Didn't watch the stream but I have to say getting a much-needed win - and the first time we've had one in Puerto Rico - leaves me feeling pretty good about it.
Great result and great way to start what is a seriously tough road trip. Think Barbara might be on the next penalty though!
haha, also Nic Plato on the bench I was excited because I finally had a chance to see a game and that feed was giving me a headache from all the camera switching, I had to stop in like the 15th minute. Somebody fill me in about the penalties... I've been seriously slacking as a RailHawk fan the last month or so due to the CPA exam.
You can see Richardson's PK goal against TB here (about 1:30 in)... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaEDjo0hOVM"]FC Tampa Bay vs Carolina RailHawks[/ame] He kind of hesitates just before kicking the ball and then just gently chips it dead center of the goal. The ball barely makes it to the back of the net, but since the Tampa Bay keeper was diving to his right, he couldn't stop it. So last night with the game tied 1-1 in the 85th minute, Richardson steps to the spot and does the exact same thing, only this time, Gaudette (who I'm sure had seen the video of the Tampa Bay PK) doesn't move and the ball hits him right in the hands. If Paladini doesn't score the winner in stoppage time, Richardson would've been responsible for the RailHawks dropping 2 points.
Thought it was an excellent performance. We looked really solid at the back and took the goals really well. Still can't believe we have to play Montreal three more times though!
I have to spread some love for Paladini. He has to be the most improved player this year. The kid is literally playing out of his skin every game. Our very own Paul Scholes.
Really, Paladini most improved over last year? I thought he was our MVP last year with the way he controlled midfield. I actually thought he started slow this season but seems to have found his stride now.
And the hits keep on coming baby... Paladini steals a point in Portland at the death! Awesome work from Barbara to set him up
The late stages of that game buffered a lot for me... so I'm really glad it was working in time for me to watch Paladini find the back of the net at the end there.
And that stride is as a big huge shot of adrenalin coming off the bench. I don't know how he feels about this "super-sub" role, but is certainly agrees with him, and is getting results.
We're finally doing work Looking forward to my first home game in a while next weekend (can't make it to the USOC game)
