it says not too long ago there was a U-14 tourney in Catalunya hosted by Barcelona, Real Madrid and the likes were also there. well they invited the U-14 Korean National Team. and they said this kid named Park Sheng Ho whose only 12 yrs old and was captain as well. they said he impressed all the coaches and scouts present there, and that now Barcelona and Real Madrid are fighting to get this kid within their youth ranks. they wanna both invite him to a 3 day trial to see how he does in their facilities and how he manages in their first team youth training regements. , like scrimmages and things of that nature. it also says he's no stranger in Korea. he has a special contract with Nike and he's also dubbed the Korean Messi back home.

    Re: Park Sheng Ho

I heard about this a few days ago. His name is actually Baek Seung-ho (백승호) and it looks like he'll be playing for Suwon's youth club in Maetan High School next year. Interesting stuff indeed. I heard Tito Villanova, Pep Guardiola's assistant, was at the match in Spain and expressed his interest in signing him.

Interesting news Catracho. Thank you for the link. I've not heard anything about this before in the Korean news, although I won't pretend I read everything, but certainly we had Kim Woo-Hong who is now with Real Madrid's youth programme (I suppose this is what the article was alluding to with '...en su fútbol base milita otra jugador de origen coreano':

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1083415&page=4

and Suh Myung-Won who is now with Portsmouth's youth team. Both having featured to some extent with the U-14 teams. The latter being one of the stars of the Asian U-14 tournament which Korea breezed through.

If the assistants and technical aids to Guardiola were there, certainly it wasn't a mean feat to have impressed them. The article says his future won't likely be decided until next summer so I suppose we'll have to wait and see how his trialing goes. On another note, I'm not sure as to what his actual name may be; the transliteration of the first part of his given name 'Sheng' from what was mentioned in the article is not a spelling often seen in romanizing the Korean language. Likely someone on these boards is already aware of this talent.

    [edit]

    Sky wins the prize.

    Hope he goes to Barca.

I'm sure he'd learn a lot over there than Suwon's U-15 middle school.

    Re: Park Sheng Ho

According to Sport, Barcelona have beaten a number of clubs including Real Madrid to the signing of South Korean sensation Sheng Ho Park.

The 13-year-old has been labelled as the 'Korean Messi' in his homeland and has already signed a sponsorship deal with Nike.

After impressing the Blaugrana scouts in a youth tournament late last year, Sheng Ho has been training at Ciutat Esportiva over the last few days.

The striker has impressed the coaching staff, and Sport claim that they said they had not seen anything like him in recent years.

The contract negotiations were concluded quickly in order to stave off interest from other clubs, and Sheng Ho will now join the Catalan giants' youth ranks in the summer

    congrats. lol

Seung is difficult if you're not Korean. Sheng definitely easier if less accurate.

Would it be weird to say that this kid is adorable?

SOT, may your next child be a son. You can tie a football to his feet with a rubber string.
