Your overall point except the fact that you used that CLICHE which is used over and over...Of all the team in that make a world cup, who do you think are teams " easy to play", probably nobody.
Yes....i think it may be a good thing South Africa will be playing such tough opponents, because they lift their game against bigger teams. I think though that someone like Algeria will be able to give us almost equal problems than lets say Mexico would...Sometimes people underestimate the smaller teams like Slovenia and so forth...but the danger is if one steps on the field and your just slightly off, you start to panic
I personally think algeria was hiding its real game since the end of the qualifications, just expect a really different algeria from the one playing these friendlies.
England is one of the best teams in the world ATM but that doesn't make them invincible. I don't want to argue anymore. Lets wait for the world cup to start.
Yes, let's do wait. I just recently witnessed England have their way with Egypt, the African Nations Champion, and that was without a few key players in the squad, and a short practice stint. If you think Algeria is going to get the better of England, you're in for a serious disappointment. I'd be more concentrated on getting a result against the U.S. and Slovenia if I were you..
As far as I saw the English team was with their full squad. Algeria will shock the world in the WC. Mark my word.
We never play 100% in friendlies. Im not sure why friendly games keep getting used as examples as to why we going to have problems with the likes of Slovenia and Algeria. We blatantly took it easy in the friendlies v slovenia and Egypt. The moments when we decided to up the tempo we carved up those teams.
Only if you think missing 3 out of your 4 starters in defence is a full squad. Mark my words, I've seen all the teams in the group play, and Algeria will be lucky to finish 3rd, and more than likely will end up last in the group.
I really don't care about this discussion but at the moment England looks like it will be missing 2 out of the 4 starters: Wes Brown - injured with broken foot Ashley Cole - injured with broken left ankle Wayne Bridge - So yeah... given the circumstances missing at least 2 out of the 4 starters is what we are to expect at the world cup from England. Plus - having Terry on his current form is risky - he has become a lialibity.
Wes Brown isn't a starter and neither is Bridge. Cole may recover by the world cup. Terry is playing well again over the past few games and did well against Egypt so he isn't a worry. This whole subject is complete nonsense.
England's 2nd choice defence is still light years ahead of Algeria's back 4. When Bougherra is your best defender you have enough problems of your own to worry about.
The guy isnt algerian. Bizarrely that poster claims to be Polish. Not really sure why he is hanging around this thread talking smack on their behalf.
Jejku... po prostu wyrazam swoje zdanie... I really don't care about the game. I don't think Algeria has a chance and the DF is way behind what Egypt's is... I was just commenting on England having issues with its back four. Just for the record I believe Yahia is widely held as Algeria's best defender (then Belhadj).
If i had to imagine how this pans out: Either England plays well and wins easily...as they should... ....or Algeria plays the anti-football of their lives and forces a draw....they seem to be very capable of doing this... To me the feeling/hunch is that Algeria has a 55% chance of drawing this game... and England has a 45% chance of winning this game... A win for Algeria is unlikely
If the Algeria that lost their heads in a ACN Semi-final (big game for them) shows up, they will get thrashed. They fell to pieces then- whether the pressure got to them, or because they were playing one of their biggest rivals they saw red... who knows, but they buckled under the occasion- and a high-profile WC match against England is arguably a bigger match. Of course, anything can happen in football- but by and large, the results that people expect are the ones that happen- that's why shock results are shock results- they don't happen very often!
Roughly, I only imagine a 45% chance for england winning...almost a 0% chance for algeria winning....and a 55% chance for a draw....Algeria can easily get a draw, but not easily win.
45% chance of a win? That's a odd number for a team who could send their 2/3rd string team out and still beat them.
I'm saying it because it seems like the Anti-football approach of some teams look like a new trend as to beating/frustrating the big guns... Sometimes this approach works....but sometimes it will backfire....my "feeling" is that theres a "55% chance" of it working. - no real stats here, just an expression of how much i feel the one or the other. They will cheer for their draw against England...in other words, fighting for a draw instead of a win...negative football....
hehe....and i HATE these tactics...wasting time and whatnot. Egypt does this sometimes although they have abilities also. I feel most teams in africa that play more as a team, also tend to have these negative, but effective tactics...(Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria etc) Egypt to me is top 10 material, but i cannot frigging stand the way they play sometimes.... side note: Fifa should ban simulation and frigging red card people faking injuries, rolling around...giving the sport a sissy name...
hi i'm new in this forum i'm algerian I think that if teams in our group don't take Algeria seriously they will have a big surprize because for our players it's the chance of their life to shine like slovenian players and for the match (semi final against egypte in angola it was the refree who changed the issue of the match and our players were tired because of IC match just before in which they played 120 mn)
