I've been reading BS for about 4 years now. I've gotten away without posting anything for this long but I can't pass this up.

This has to be the stupidest thing I've seen in the history of American football culture.

The fact that these asshats are tied into SSFC makes me hang my head in shame.

Obviously you've never heard of the Philadelphia Rumspringa. Nothing scarier than a bunch of Amish teenagers running around picking fights.;)

This, however, is a very close second. It's all about the facepaint. On the plus side, maybe Mohawk will actually make some noise when the cameras aren't on him.

Why do you guys hate mohawk man so much? Is he a douche in person? Or is it the attention whore thing?

Yes, the book is very good. Go read it asap. Might want to start it when you have time though. Once you start you wont want to stop.

Well he has gotten a couple actual ECS members kicked out who overtly suggested that he participate in ECS support if he decides to stand at the front of our section. Douchebag point-to-toe.

There is enough going on in GA that no one would miss if the mohawk were resituated in the handicapped row.

its lame that he stands at the front of 123 and doesn't sing, but his outfit is tight in my opinion. I'm not down with telling people how to support their teams, he should just leave ECS alone... cuz hes obviously in the south end for the cameras.

I guess I don't see what the issue is. I've seen the guy (not hard to miss), but never spoken with him. Anyone who decorates themselves like that (and buys tickets) is obviously a fan. I sit (oops- stand) near the supporters section, but not in it. ECS and the rest do a great job of creating atmosphere, I don't see one guy in the section not singing as being able to diminish all that's created there. If his only contribution is visual, along with numerous young ones who paint faces and dye hair, that's OK. It's a big stadium- there's room for all kinds of fans, even in the south end. I would gladly trade him with some of the one-beer-and-I'm-drunk-find-a-way-to-touch-my-daughter-idiots who stand near me.

the guy starts fights because his ego is bigger than qwest.

    capiche? simple concept.

and anyone who trademarks their names deserves a solid boot to the teeth.

I thought that was funny when I saw it.. That takes a major ego for a fan to trademark the nickname you created for yourself.

My biggest complaint about Mohawk is that he just stands there until the cameras come and all of a sudden he acts like he's been making noise the entire game. If he were there in his face paint and mohawk actually supporting the team, I doubt anyone would have a problem. His problem is that he's there to support himself and uses the Sounders to do that.

Lets not forget showing up in Mariners gear the day we overlapped so he could cut out early from the SSFC match to go do the same at the M's game. Of course wearing his M's jersey backwards so we knew that Mr Mohawk was the important bit of his getup and not the team he was supporting.

Funny story when he showed up for the July 4th US match he had his customary 14 jersey (Not sure who our 14 was at that time) at anyrate he was pissing and moaning about spending $70 on the shirt and about the same to have the name removed and Mr. Mohawk added. Then about two weeks later US Soccer started advertising custom jerseys.

came out in the fall. but just so you know, the "end" book was so long, that they decided to break it down into three seperate novels. so it's not quite ending yet ;). part one just came out. part two comes out this fall, and part three next fall.

i haven't read it yet either, but i've heard good things. and remember, about half of it is still jordan's original writings.

I think it's the "90% of the reason the Legion exists is to recoup the costs/justify the production of scarves with his picture on it" thing:

Was Mohawk at the game last night? I didn't see him on any of the clips of the crowd. One would think if you're starting up a supporters group you'd be attending the first home game after your launch. :)
