There are rumors saying Heynckes could be the new German NT coach. If Löw will retire, Heynckes would be my first choice.
I think Heynckes would be a fine choice as well. He has a wealth of experience, and generally enjoys a good relationship with his players. I think he is much more respected by the players than Loew/Flick could ever be. I just find it hard to believe that guys like Lahm, Schweini, or Ballack could take a guy like Loew seriously in the locker room.
I would wanted Hidink, but he went to Istambul... We need experinced one, not a great german football player. Hitzfeld would be great, he is probably the best german coach ever. He deserves to try himself as coach of the Mannschaft.
Well Kroos himself can tell you that heynckes for a start would be better right now for Germany. The best german coach ever without a doubt is the late great Sepp Herberger. Then Helmut Schoen. To put Hitzfeld in their league is being disrespectful
what? Hitzfeld is one of the most successfull club coaches ever, no idea how that could be "disrespectful". Imo they are absolutly in the same league. Regarding Heynckes... I can't see him leaving Leverkusen.
Nah, hitzfeld won nicely with good teams. Herberger carried a nation and a team on his back and got them to the top. Schoen made them ridiculously succesful while playing great football. What hitzfeld has done, while being really good, is nothing extraordinary like those two. It's like comparing ballack with fritz walter or beckenbauer.
Thats not necessarily true. Given teh feelings Lahm has discussed about management and coaching at FCB I don't think he would like a tactically naive coach like Loew. Plus both Lahm and Schweinsteiger were starters under Voeller. Not really products of the Klinsi era.
Are you honestly going to tell me that they didn't have good players available? Not at all and saying winning the CL twice with different teams is nothing "extraordinary" is kinda funny. Hitzfeld dominated germanys club football for more than a decade and lets also not forget that his career isn't finished yet. Its much harder to be successfull on a club level.
Didn't hitzfeld have the best and richest teams in the country when he coached? Given that, he did what he should have, and maybe a bit more. Herberger owned the DFB system and built it, AND won a world cup against a superteam. Schoen inherited that system and formed a record by himself that's only bettered by Brazil's and Italy's entire history! Also playing great football doing it. I don't agree it's harder at club level compared to what these guys did. Actually the daily contact for NT coaches back then was much higher than now.
