isn't the deal that a loan can be extended once, but not twice? I'd th ink if they extend, they extend through the end of the season. and then they'd buy the contract outright.
This one is a "modern interpretation" of our 1985 kit, 25 year anniversary of winning the title and European CW Cup (should have been the treble but FA cup was arranged for 3 days after the CWC and we lost in extra time) The only bad thing about that season was the horrendous shirts with that white bib ruining the look....
yea thats what I was thnking but i just wasnt sure if the MLS could recall Donovan once the strike ended if it were to end soon....
Agreed. Personally, I've gotten so used to seeing Everton play elite teams that I'm quite curious to see how they play when the competition lvl drops just a bit... I thought Arteta was laboring from about minute 57 on. I've got to imagine that by March he'll be getting closer to match fitness. He's done amazing given the circumstances but I think he's still got a ways to go before he's able to hold down the middle like he's capable.
I've actually fallen for Everton since Landon has been here. I've been living here about 18 mos and while in the US I became a Man Utd supporter. This happened mainly to coverage in the States surrounds the top four. I've soured over Utd because of the over exposure here and you see how Sir Alex is a d*ck. Over the past 2 mos I've watched a lot of Everton and I found myself on Sat wanting Everton to win. The english football supporter and the media has fallen for LD. The sky studio analysts said they came close to giving him the man of the match on Sat. Two "8"s in a row in the TImes.
I know your pain. DC United could have pulled off the double double back in 1997, but we had to play Dallas for the Open Cup final 3 days after MLS Cup. I'm not still bitter or anything, mind you.
A guy I know who's an agent says Everton have submitted a bid of 7 million GBP. I haven't seen this anywhere else yet, but this guy is pretty solid from past experience.
There was this a few pages back, which says the same thing: http://www.imscouting.com/global-ne...ion-aids-Everton-bid-for-Landon-Donovan/5923/
Yeah, count me in on that as well. I've never found an EPL team that I was smitten with - didn't really try, to be honest. But I have now found one.
Not sure that this has been mentioned in in this thread. Was hoping he'd find a goal against ManU, but after reading he's been sick....wow: "From then on, the Merseysiders took complete control with on-loan American winger Landon Donavon once more showing why he'll pose a threat to England this summer with a man-of-the-match performance. Not bad for a player who had to be pulled out of his sick bed before giving Gary Neville a torrid afternoon. "Landon came to me on the morning of the game and told me he didn't think he could play because of flu," said Moyes. "I told him players in England don't miss games because of flu. Maybe being from Los Angeles he doesn't know what flu is. "I didn't make a decision on the team until we left the hotel. He looked a bit smarter and better once he was in his suit so we decided to go with him. He played really well again and was always a threat. "
