Great goal of Carlos “El Pescadito” Ruiz this weekend vs the team Santos of the Mexican league. The game ended 3-3, where Ruiz made two goals.

He still has it, made lots of goals in Paraguay and now he has 5 in the Mexican league.

That was a sweet goal. Thanks for the post.

Wish there would have been more of that when he was with us the 2nd time around.

What a beast El pescadito is, still going strong after all these years. Still have memories of him scoring "that" game winning goal then crying like a baby.

A great striker, I really wished DC tried to get him back when his future was in limbo... :( Even though he is a 'typical' latin american diver, his skills make me careless.

Looks like mexico have caught sights of his talent finally, and now i doubt he will ever come back to the MLS, unless it would be for DP money as i am sure he is earning pretty damn good in mexico. I'd assume 400k+

I always knew he still had it. He's just a lazy SOB. He knows he can't slack in Mexico so thats why I think he's excelling there.

Phenomenal. I have almost never seen a volley of that nature, certainly from that position. Unbelievable technique there.

At a shelter for Battered Fans. My therapist and I have been working on moving beyond the pain and suffering of the last 5 years.

Now that Il Bruce has put a restraining order on the FO, I feel like I can finally come out from hiding. The abusers are in jail where they belong.

This is all part of the healing process, as is forgiving Ruiz for his lamentable "performance" in his 2nd incarnation as a Galaxy....

OK, you mofo's... here's some REAL scoop.

PUEBLA just played the PDL's Lancaster Rattlers (with most of their A-team) and LOST 3-1.

Best part? The LA RIOT SQUAD's very own Christian Torres (in goal for the last 15 mins) stopped a Carlos Ruis shot after a defensive breakdown.

Congrats to Christian and the success of the Lancaster Rattlers.

That game verus Lancaster was nothing but a scrimmage.

I attended the Puebla vs C.D. FAS game last night at the Coliseum in which Puebla absolutely dominated and won 4-1.

Carlos Ruiz earned a penalty kick when he was clipped from behind in the box. Ruiz took the penalty kick, but instead of shooting it, he brilliantly passed it to a WIDE open Borgetti who just slotted it in to put Puebla up 1-0.

Ruiz scored the 4th goal to put them up 4-0 on a beautiful one time low driven shot from the top of the box to the right corner. He was subbed out in the 60th minute.

wasn't ruiz recently shut down by a development team in lancaster? point i am making is, defense is really soft in latin america . . . and this goals are misleading. don't get me wrong, obviously the guy still has skills, but he isn't going to get the same space in the MLS. without that space, he isn't nearly as productive.

^^^You cant compare apples to oranges. Mexican league in general is at a higher level than MLS and is in the top 3 in the americas.

MLS is just more physical, but more soccer smart per player? No. Soccer smarts go farther than pure pressure and 'chasing the ball' like the US style is. There is a reason why mexico's NT is always a threat in the WC compared to the US, because their style is very 'socer smart' on the ball, and can create, and all players soccer brains can string opportunities together....

Hopefully the US will soon have players with sharp soccer brains in time...

LMFAO.** You're coming to a really stupid conclusion based off of a glorified scrimmage at some park.**

"OMG FC Seoul beats LA Galaxy!** Lee Chung-young >>>>>>David Beckham!"

--See how incredibly stupid that is?

"Based off of this one scrimmage, I conclude that MFL sucks balls, all of Carlos Ruiz' goals are bullshit and negated in my mind, MLS is the top league in America and I'm right because I'm an ethnocentric moron"

And I'm sure Edson Buddle will be starting for Arsenal next year

Landin for Houston reminded me of Carlos a little bit. That was a great shot he got off against Berhalter. I haven't seen such a pudgy player in a long time, though. I don't think even Blanco has him beat. Or even Carlos at his most out of shape.

He reminds me of Quaranta when he came back to DC. Landin has a good 15lbs to get off before he can be MLS fit. He is good though.
