Anyone find out why Casey was pushed out this year? He was probably the best coach I've seen with the Menace. He knew how to get the guys to perform and play attacking football. I found his style to be the most entertaining.

Sounds like it was a money thing from what I've heard. It would have had to been mutual on something like that, you wouldn't make a guy a lame duck that early in the season if you were basing it only on performance issues.

Hey guys, those of you that have gone to the gatherings for US matches, or plan to in the future, please head on over to the following thread and give your thoughts... even if you are not yet a member of the Outlaws. We are looking at alternatives to Limey's now, especially after what happened on match day vs Mexico.

In short, we weren't treated very well by the staff.. which for Limey's isn't all that unusual given how slow service is (worse for this game since there were more people). But the big thing is we got accused of being rowdy and racist toward two Mexican fans that were in the bar. A few things were said, none racist.

FYI, my buddy and I won the Drake season ticket package for men's and women's soccer matches at the Heartland Championship Final. He lives in Coralville and I live in Cedar Rapids, so that means any weekday games and a few Sunday games will be out of the question. PM me if you are interested in picking up a pair of tickets at reduced price from me for any of those matches. We are just using that little bit of cash to for gas money for the other matches.

We will be at the Drake vs. Michigan match at Cownie this Friday night. Each squad is in the Top 25 in one poll, but is the just on the outside of the other poll. Should be a good match-up.

Also, in case any of you haven't heard, the Drake @ Evansville game on Oct. 23 will be on Fox Soccer Channel's Friday night NSCAA College Game of the Week. It'll be great to see some current Menace players on national TV. Mark your calendars.

So now as Menace fans, what do we hope for; application for a USL1 franchise, for the TOA to branch off a better structure league and we join that, or we stay at the PDL level and get stuck with another season at Valley Stadium.

Personally I would hope for the TOA option but if nothing new is tried, I will be severely disappointed.

By the way, I don't think that USL-1 is even remotely on the table for Des Moines right now. There isn't anyone interested in partnering on the stadium, and Krause isn't interested in going it alone.

Considering TOA is talking Sept-June calendar and the rumors are including NFL owners (can you say NASL 2?), I do not see us in the mix. i doubt we hit either in the near future. I am no fan of Valley and would like a 2nd division pro club, but without an influx of cash and a SSS, there is no way.
