jeez even their twitter background is pixelated grainy and unprofessional. I know it's about the on field presence, but this coupled with their crest and website... come on step it up. I really hope FCNY is a success, but as of now, can't say I believe in it.

it's pixelated and looks like a grab off of google images. very unprofessional IMO. I know image isn't everything, but I can't take any company/brand/team serious if they're put forth like a 16 year old's Myspace page (yes, I know it's Twitter).

I understand your criticism, but I still don't get it. Its a NYC skyline wallpaper, yea its found on Google Images I bet....and they put a blue hue affec ton it, then stuck the logo in the top right corner. I am not sure what is unprofessional about it...its simple it looks fine and its the damn Background for freakin Twitter man... explain pixelated, im not an artist.

And I really hope they are saving their money for players and a stadium then hiring a "professional staff" to make eye-pleasing background images on Twitter.

You're the one claiming that marketing will be the key to their success. Change of heart?

I think most of us want FCNY to thrive in the NY/US soccer scene. However, media presentation is all we can work off of being that we have not seen the on-field product. Therefore, committing to this team in-spirit and in-wallet is difficult when the only presentation of the team is mediocre at best.

Nevertheless, as I said previously, I will wait until the coach, kit and committed stadium plans are released. I can be patient, hopefully.

yea...that's very pixelated...so is the badge...

too bad i personally offered Doug to revamp their badge, and offer
to vectorize it, as this would never make it pixelated again.
Did I mention I would do that for free?

no matter....keep up the fine work FCNY.

Well as the OP says: why don't you guys do stuff like that. I got some pulls till if you make a pretty looking background for Twitter and Youtube and some videos, I am sure they will showcase them!

Well I am saying, go ahead and make stuff like background images for our networking sites and videos for Youtube. A new badge isn't going to happen. I really like ours anyway and the website already has a professionally drawn badge with the proper colors.

I also like that when you search "FC New York", New York's Liverpool supporters club comes up before, you know, FC New York.

Where is this the case Metro? Search on Facebook brings up both FC New York pages (the group and the fan page) and a search on Google brings up at least 50 pages related to our FC New York.

and yea I Like the badge...it looks cool on a polo, on the jersey, and on our scarves. The symbols and colors are historically significant. Yea it does not look like a 150 year old coat of arms, but it sure looks better then most of the USL badges...Aimorris can be 5 years old and laugh at me all he wants, in the end, its just my opinion...I'm not the one losing sleep over it.

Obviously when the OP made this thread he did not realize of the 10 people that frequent these forums, only 1 of them actually supports the team haha...

This is also a product that none of us have seen, and makes no historical references (i.e. in contrast to new products like SSFC and SJ Earthquakes). So fan-following isn't demanded. I was also fed that this team will be NYC's team. After time went by and we realized Icahn and Baker were not options, doubts naturally arise.

With that said (and I speak for myself), I hope FCNY succeeds past all expectations. And I really want to see them play in the city, as advertised. I plan on going to a few games...not seasons which I expected to buy.

Well I believe that the plan is sill to build a stadium in Queens, its not going to happen tomorrow though. Plenty f support, even out at Hofstra is only good for the team and for its chances of becoming popular and gaining notoriety here in New York.

I don't know if the team will play in 2010, comparing the Rowdies to FC NY. The Rowdies have way more info going on then FC NY. but also Tampa was announced a year ago and FCNY this past April.

don't compare a team that was announced in 2008 to a team that was announced in April of 09. And if you go on their website, it lacks content...take a look past the flashy pretty images and see for yourself.

If you're not ready, you shouldn't announce.

Just a reminder. This is a USL First Division club, not an MLS Club. It could be until February before anything definitive comes out. Just ask Austin Aztex and Cleveland City Stars fans.

Agreed, but just because you're not top level doesn't mean you can't do things right. I think planning your marketing/press strategy before, you know, you do it is advisable for any organization, small or large, prestigious or not.
