Any kid out of Utah we should have at least gotten a look at... if we didn't, shame on us/RSL. Getting a look at the player is not hard to do and while I don't think a local kid would bring in thousands it does make a difference for local fans to have a local favorite player. Hopefully, this Kyle kid will get a look from us eventually - assuming the Norway thing doesn't happen.
agreed, and if the timing is what it appeared, Garth was up to his eyeballs negotiating on Yura's possible immediate transfer, REK, Campos, Gonzales, etc. Shopping and negotiating for proven players and negotiating serious money compared to negotiating with a kid who may or may not have what it takes for MLS (or Norway) would have been time wasted, at that time.
thanks to polygamy the Christensens really are almost all related. I've never met one I'm not related to.
I am sure if you stepped out of Utah (and northern AZ and western Texas) you would find the real world is much different.
Might just be someone clowning around.... But this was a comment on Desnews yesterday. Change | 5:09 p.m. Aug. 20, 2009 Talked to someone in the front office today. Two big changes in the works with RSL this week! Clint and Yura, keep an eye out. http://www.deseretnews.com/user/comments/1,5143,705324716,00.html
I heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend, who heard it from another...is in the works, keep that eye out.
I heard that Mathis was either retiring or being waved, and Yura is gone to Randers. Anyone else get a whiff of this?
clint retiring or being waved? why? sure he has had a rough go in the last couple of games, but that doesnt change what he has done the rest of the season. That would be a bit harsh. A benching - deserved. Shown the door - Way too quick of an action (unless they are opening up a spot for someone else....) The Yura thing... who knows
oh the drama that is football. You hate it, but at the same time, you love it and therefore you love football that much more...
Kyle left for Oslo today. Lyn (1-10-10) is in last place of the Norwegian Premier League (Tippeligaen). They have 9 games remaining, and are hoping/looking for some additional firepower up front to keep them from being relegated (2 lowest teams out of 16). Kyle said his Denver coach got him the hookup, and knows the Lyn coach, from their time at West Ham(?). Kyle seems excited and really has nothing to lose from this, and possibly a contract to gain from Lyn if he performs well.
Major skeptic here. Happy to be proven wrong, but unless that post is from the long-missing Bob the Janitor, I am content to watch the scuttlebutt. Using the DNews comment section to spread news just strikes me as super-goofy. A malouca of sorts.
I would not be surprised, while I haven't been the biggest Mathis supporter as of late, is more due to the current formation we are playing than anything else. He just doesn't fit the system Kreis is trying to implement, but plays him anyway.
I dont think that I would be sad to see either of them go. I can't see any good either of them have done in the past couple of games. Yura probably has the worst shots to goals ratio in the history of the game and Clint just seems to be trying to get into fights. I love how Clint played the first half but the way things are now, it might not hurt to give some of the younger guys like Jean a chance.
I wouldn't mind seeing Jean suit up for us this season, but I believe he is on loan through the rest of the USL season. Although we could call him back, we have so many recently acquired offensive threats, that i don't see why we would being him back
DNews. I guess that is where this came from. http://www.mls-rumors.net/2009/08/outgoing-yura-movsisyan-finally-sold-to.html I think it would be sad way for Clint to leave. He actually showed he had something to bring to the table for RSL and let it get away.
Best comment on that article link: "Cletus would make maybe the worst coach in the history of MLS. He's Alexi Lalas-level dumb, with an on-pitch attitude problem to boot." If true it might be a good thing that the FO is moving forward. There is a good change Mathis wouldn't be in the long term plans of the club and Yura obviously isn't, so let's give playing time to those who are. Plus the short term plans, making the playoffs, aren't looking so promising, so why not ask the new guys to show what they are made of.
If RSL gets rid of Cletus, and not get rid of Kreis, an outbreak will start and mayhem will ensue. Rumor: Not true, not buying it.
one of the biggest things, for me at least, to look forward for against Chivas is what happens to Clint and Yura. If they arent in the 18, surely this is more than rumor and speculation
RSL is one point behind their total at 23 games in 2008. Obviously, getting points at KC is vital to the chances of making the playoffs. RSL needs at least 10 points out of the remaining 7 games, 1.4 points per game average, to be in the mix of teams for the playoffs. While 40 is within reach, it can fail to be sufficient. Get More!
How about Findley with 10 goals in the season so far! 2nd in the Golden Boot award... tied with Schelotto and Donovan. Ive said this before and i'll say it again. If nothing else comes from this season, i want to see him get the Golden Boot Award!
How many PK's does Findley have? Any? I know Donovan has at least a couple and I believe Schelotto does as well. That is something to consider. Findley is getting goals by actually having to work at it!
