It's hard to say someone who does what he did isn't a sociopath. He certainly has some of the symptoms of ASPD. And a rather "flat" personality.

There were a few things there, tho, that do give some insight into the man.

Like a book from R. Don Steele.

Anyway, it's clear that Sodini was an enthusiastic fan of Steele. Not only was his book on Sodini's coffee table, but here's a video [looks like Steele just took it down!] of Steele teaching his students how to talk to women, and if you look carefully, right at the beginning and later on, you can clearly see Sodini in attendance. He's the only one not wearing a suit jacket.

What would Sodini have learned from Steele? Basically, R. Don's message boils down to this: women hate nice guys. Be a brash, confident, son of a bitch, and target your approaches at young waitresses. Don always preferred them in the 19-21 range.

    Sigh.

I looked up this guy's church and the one that spawned it. (Tetelestai Church, formed out of Berahcah (sp?) Church in Houston). Um, wow.

This incident has shed light on the True Forced Loneliness movement, which would be hilarious if some asshole hadn't just shot up a gym because women wouldn't sleep with him. Ditto this blog post from some idiot about how 'game' can save lives. The comments are truly amazing.

Yea, verrily. The comments are some of the craziest shit I've ever read on the internet.

George Sodini is an MRA hero as much a reason to learn game. Finally a mass murderer writes a relatively coherent manifesto. Could be better, but at least it is implied that feminism is to blame and he is taking a last stand. I had been waiting for this (almost thinking I had to do it myself) and I am impressed. Kudos.

The ********tard who wrote this has a picture. Hopefully, he has police tailing his ass for the next couple of days.

Hopefully this douche gets to visit somewhere that he'll get raped on a daily basis.

    Maybe he'll change his mind.

You can't arrest a guy just for being a weirdo.

Just as much as George Carlin had made about the subject of rape?

What a bunch of losers on that blog. Good lord. They would have a lot more success picking up women if they didn't try so hard. And alcohol usually helps.

Don't some gun fans think that if everyone was packing, there wouldn't be mass shootings?

I have an odd picture in my head of a yoga class where everyone has a gun strapped to them somewhere.

What a pseudoscientific bunch of garbage. What a little ********ing creep.

I just went to another post on the original 'roisy' or whatever blog, and got this gem of a post in which a woman's "Market value" is rated.

Now, this site is for MEN, remember, which I presume refers to adults. Note that the first criteria is age. Here's the scale:

    15 to 16 years old: +5 points
    17 to 20 years old: +10 points
    21 to 25 years old: +8 points
    26 to 29 years old: +3 point
    30 to 33 years old: 0 points
    33 to 36 years old: -1 point
    37 to 40 years old: -5 points
    41 to 45 years old: -8 points
    46 to 49 years old: -10 points
over 49: you’ve hit the wall. waysa?

These "men" would prefer a High school freshmen to a woman in her late 20s.

It gets worse, and if we hadn't unfortunately just learned that these cretins are serious I would have thought this was a parody of a pickup-artist type site.

I feel sick. Monsters are in our midst.

We really shouldn't wonder why these guys never get laid, considering how they "rate" women this way, and think that rape is equivalent to "affirmative action".

That's not my point. You can try to get an individual some help when they're clearly disturbed. Based on his behavior in the videos, either this guy displayed an entirely different persona at work, or his colleagues must have been aware he was several sandwiches short of a picnic. I think it's not healthy to ignore serious mental illness in any environment.

I assume we all know people who are a few sandwiches short of a picnic (I'll have to remember that one!). It's quite another thing to actively help that person, which presumably would also require him being willing to seek help. I mean a thing like this, unless you're actually reading his blog there is no way to even guess that he's planning something like this. Most people would consider it to be none of their business to meddle in this guy's life just because he's weird. Apparently he didn't even have any friends who could try to reach out to him, and how likely is it that someone's co-workers are going to do so?

My opinion is there really isn't any way to prevent something like this. If it can't be prevented even where it is very difficult for people to get their hands on deadly weapons, it surely can't be prevented in America.

Just looking at those videos, you'd probably just think him no more than a little dull. There are probably thousands of equally dull youtube videos out there with a similar theme.

The fact is very few real pychos out there generate any degree of suspicion (of being a murderer or potential murderer) among the people they know.

Man. I assumed that the age-based scoring system was all this guy had. There are 34 criteria.

    27. When a guy approaches you in a bar, regardless of your attraction for him, you:

Smile and look at him: +1 point
Pretend like you don’t notice him coming: 0 points
Frown and tell him you’re talking to your friends before he even gets a chance to say Hi: -1 point

    28. On a first date the check arrives for dinner and drinks. You:

Offer to split the check or even pay in full: +1 point
Smile and thank the guy when he pays for the check: 0 points
Forget to thank him after he pays for your ungrateful ass: -1 point

And then, believe it or not, it gets even more juvenile. And based on "Roissy's" comments to the blog, it's pretty clear he's serious.

The intersection of guns in the hands of insane people, a sexless middle-aged loser, hatred of women and lack of health care to certain groups of people all in one uniquely American package:

"My sister is a member of the fitness club where that shooting took place. It was just chance that she was not there, and not in that fitness class, the night the shooting took place. My gratefulness for her safety has been tempered by my sadness for the women who were ... Well, just imagine my thoughts today when I talked to my sister, and she let me know what was going on for one of the women who was shot at the fitness club.

The young woman had recently graduated college and therefore had 'aged out' of coverage on her parents' health insurance. ... So her friends and family recently sponsored a friggin' car wash to raise funds to pay her hospital bills. Yes. A car wash."

I see you're exercising your gift for overstatement in my absence.

I'm off to search your posts for mocking material.

It's painfully difficult to find a pro-gun advocate who doesn't make the claim that more guns = less crime as almost the first thing out of their mouths ("an armed society is a polite society"), and you see that stuff everywhere after one of these mass shootings. It's practically front-page material for the NRA (and, in fact, as I write this that very meme is present on the front page). I don't think "nearly all" is an overstatement. It is certainly an overwhelming majority.

I can't say "all", because I'm pro-gun, and I don't make crazy claims that if just more people owned guns, crime rates would go way down.

I love you too, Mike. :)
