Obviously, we want to win both. But if you had to choose one, which game would you choose to win? The Gold Cup finals or the World Cup Qualifier @Azteca? In the end, neither game actually means that much. The Gold Cup finals is hardware, but it is our "B-Side" while the game in Mexico City would be the tougher get. Ultimately, I believe both the US and Mexico will be in SA, so neither game means all that much. I believe I'd go with the WCQ, but I'm interested in other opinions
Everyone should answer the World Cup Qualifier in Azteca, and yes that game means something. 3 points from that match would be huge!!!

You have to be joking. If we win at Mexico we get 3 points from our most difficult match and Mexico loses VITAL points. Not only we would virtually guarantee our trip to SA, but we'd severely injure Mexico at the same time.
Is this really a poll? It's too easy to answer. Winning the Gold Cup gets you nothing (this year anyway) except a trophy. Winning a Qualifier, on the road, in the most difficult environment, get us closer to the Cup.
I want to win both obviously, but the WCQ game would mean more since we're what...0-24-1 in Azteca? Plus, it would be 3 more points for us to re-gain the lead (possibly) back on Costa Rica, and put Mexico in a bigger spot to fail to qualify. That is that. But a Gold Cup win tomorrow would be nice.
Who are the 2 who voted for thet Gold Cup game and what is your reasoning? I'd obviously like to win both but a win at Azteca would be historic and magnificent, a win in the Gold Cup final would just be gravy.
Well, the short answer is that we've already won the most important match of all: 2002 2-0. There is nothing to compare. But, obviously, the WCQ. It would come close to guaranteeing that Mex was fighting for that 4th place playoff spot.
If we get to pick a "win" then it's in Azteca, but if we take a tie in both I'd choose that and take my chances on PKs for the Cup.

Azteca is the easy vote. Move 7 points ahead of 4th place Mexico in Round 6 with 4 only games remaining. With the US hosting El Salvador in Round 7 and Mexico at Costa Rica the same Round, the US could clinch a spot in the World Cup at home with 3 games remaining. That would be huge. And the Mexican media meltdown after losing at Azteca would be priceless.
