I didn't want to start a new thread on them... but recumbent bikes... This is a double negative... but.... Nobody doesn't look silly on them! That's all there is to it. Any riders of these? Why?
I know a few riders, but they are much older and will say that it is about comfort and less back pain.
How about we add this here Coming to a store near you: chainless bicycles http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/11/19/chainless.bicycles.ap/index.html
Ya know.... was in DC this summer and saw this bike: This is a bike built by the Wright Brothers. Frankly, I was shocked to see how little the design has changed in all this time. Pretty amazing, I thought. Another pic (in case one disappears. I hate it when that happens)
Lance just linked this video on his Facebook page. Wow. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z19zFlPah-o"]YouTube - Inspired Bicycles - Danny MacAskill April 2009[/ame]
1. Love that Band of Horses song. Went to see them a couple years ago. 2. I'm not that huge a fan of trick cycling. 3. I'm surprised Lance isn't saying, "Now why can't that ********er break his collarbone instead?!
Cylingfans.com has a HUGE collection of videos from this year's Giro. http://www.cyclingfans.com/node/370 They also seem to be working on a collection of 2009 plus classic Dauphine Libere videos on their main page http://www.cyclingfans.com Bikebabe
Wielerflits, the Dutch cycling magazine, has a great YouTube channel that's worth checking out as well.
Speaking of cyclingfans, check out this awesome shot of the top of the Ventoux: Makes me purr, that picture does. Shame that the server makes the picture smaller when you embed it. Here it is in all its glory.

This got put up on another board I lurk on, and I just had to share. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dA2zy0hLbs"]YouTube - Eddy Merckx - The Greatest Show on Earth - Giro d'Italia 1974[/ame] Really cool old stuff - mid 70s Giro and Merckx. Watch out for the sanctioned mass larceny in mid-stage, and how racers used to get at their hydration back when men were men. Oh, to be a domestique in those days - just think about crashing with 4 or 5 glass liters of San Pellegrino in your back pocket. On second thought, don't.
that is awesome. i would hate to see the quill stems and teeth of the waterboys after a stage race. they must be destroyed
