To f*uck with Conmebol, I say Bolivia allows Chivas and San Luis to play en la altura. That would really pissed them off and I bet you that every south american country and their mother will be open their doors to have them play there.
- I see it hard for any south american government to allow these teams to play in their stadiums...what happen is that the colombian federation said they could play in Colombia but the major of Bogata said that he wouldn't allow it.
Mexico should not even be playing Copa Libertadores at all. This is supposed to be a South American competition which was named after Simon Bolivar, Jose De San Martin and Bernardo O'higgins. I call it poetic justice...
Dude I understand your point of view but Mexico didn´t ask to be part of this; they were invited and I don´t think one should consider a virus killing a couple of hundreds as an indirect means of no longer inviting Mexican clubs. I also understand Eber1990´s point in that any South American government would find it difficult to allow any club from a country facing a serious virus to play in their home but maybe there are measure that can be taken in order to assure that the Mexican clubs (players and staff) are not carrying the virus. In the end, all I´m saying is that South America´s concern for the virus is present, but to what degree? If Bolivia would happen to offer Hernando Siles as a ¨home¨ venue to these 2 Mexican clubs, would the other countries in the continent react and decide to allow their venues instead to be ¨home¨ to the Mexican clubs or would they allow it without any condition? IMO, I think they would do the former.
Personally i think they should be kicked out or let out of the tournament, the crap that a chivas player pulled vs. everton...... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP8wf1Ql6Qc"]YouTube - UN JUGADOR AMENAZA CON CONTAGIARLE LA GRIPE PORCINA EN EL EVERTON (CHILE) VS CHIVAS (MEXICO[/ame] I am surprised conmebol hasnt stepped in and fined them heavily for pulling this.... (player and team)
Allow it. Nothing wrong with alittle more diplomacy. Ofcourse conditions would be to scan every inch of every person that comes from Mexico and that we get a portion of any television rights royalties etc etc... LOL! Send them to Samaipata.
I think they will and they should. Not trying to condone his actions in any means but from what I heard (and correct me if I´m wrong), one of the players on the Everton club was either telling him or one of his teammates to get away from him, not to touch him, or something like because he has the swine flue. I don´t know about the rest of you but I know this would piss the f*ck out of me and maybe I wouldn´t go to such extremes to have him know how much that pissed me off but to each his own. That being said, the player´s reaction from Chivas was diffenetly uncalled for and he should get fined and suspended at least 2 games but not the whole team. Not saying that anyone did but we shouldn´t blame an entire club or country for that matter on the actions of one or a group of individuals. If so, many people in the usa (well, at least ny) would consider Bolivians a bunch of drunk, selfish, two-faced, and chismosos . . . . but we´re not all like that, right?
That´s what I´m thinking. Not only would this help these 2 Mexican clubs but it would help Bolivia`s economy.
True. But how much more can an extra hundred or so people do to our economy? Our soccer federation, the Hotels and restaurants will love it for sure.
