The Celts will still pull this off, but they won't be winning the title this year. I can see them "upsetting" Orlando (if we're still going to assume that the Magic'll make it that far ) but the conference finals will then be the end of the road for them. Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing how the young Rose performs under a pressure of a game six or seven.
Why do people still post about basketball in this thread? Talk about playoff basketball in the playoffs thread and use this one for personal argumentative bullshit
If Doc Rivers & co are to be believed... Well, it's pretty clear that even if he does return, we won't be seeing the real KG feature in these play-offs.
Lakers are happy that they won't get bitch-slapped by the Celtics in the Finals again Not necessarily saying that a healthy Celtics would have beaten the Cavs in the ECF or that the Cavs wouldn't beat the Lakeshow in the Finals (it just wouldn't be a bitch-slap).
With some non-bias refs Lakers would have rolled over the Celtics last season. Anyway, I don't think Cavs have a chance anyway. Big Z will foul out in every game and Bynum/Gasol will destroy them.
How does biased reffing explain the Lakers losing by 39 in Game 6? The Celtics simply wanted it more and played like they wanted it more. It also doesn't help that Kobe was a no-show (as usual).
I think it's more a fact of Odom and Gasol not really showing up for the Finals and making it far easier on the Celtics to neutralize Bryant.
Kobe a no-show as usual? How about Odom and Gasol not showing up at all... please. Get off of last year's bandwagon already. It's the Lakers' turn this year.
It's a seven game Finals setup. One blowout is irrelevant. The number of ref errors in those Finals is quite possibly the highest ever seen in any sport.
Are you serious? Look at the rosters. Outside of James the Cavs are shit. James might win you a couple games but he will not win you four games out of seven against these Lakers. Not a chance.
I think it goes six. Lakers steal one of the first two, Cavs steal game four back and Lakers take the 6th in Cleveland.
Put it this way, which teams really have a dominant inside presence? Houston with Yao, Orlando with Howard and Lakers with Gasol and Bynum. Cavs are 2-5 against those teams.
He's not on my ignore list for nothing. --- Anyway, I think that the Cavs can be taken out in the east alone. And the team capable of doing so is Miami. Like you said, the Cavs without James is shit. And James alone won't be able to stop them. And regarding the Lakers vs Cavs final, let me remind you all that Kobe stopped James twice this season... once with an injured finger.
