It's getting so out of hand. And Asian guys getting into it now too! Used to be the specialty of angry, white, Postal Service bachelors. This world has gone mad.

Stop it by taking away all guns. So they will start chopping up people again instead. Like they did in the old days.

Or give everyone a free gun, and charge 1500 dollars a bullet.

I know you're kidding....but some of the idiots performing these actions are later found to have believed "Obama is taking away their guns"

Now, who's feeding them this crap?!?!? Those need to shut that f%$k up as well, for promoting unfounded fear..... and getting gullible (and pretty stupid too) people to react in such heinous ways.. Personal responsibility? Sure, but the media needs to exercise it as well.....

Those citzens-to-be in NY and now three officers killed in Pittsburgh.... Shit.....

No problem ever about getting illegal guns in NY city I have no clue about upstate . My friend had a place in Harlem just hang out, and enjoy the conversation & the food. Sooner or later everyday someone will walk in selling guns or anything else you want.

While there once a week the local cops will walk in for their free food and for their payoffs.

So we can go promptly to a "Mass Knifings" post?

Why not address the problem: lack of gun education? Schools now teach how to obtain an abortion and install a condom. How about Gun Safety 101?

In another case, three cops were shot dead reporting to a home violence call that turned out to be a trap.

All that means is that they're nutjobs. Plenty of rational people believe Obama is going to push for more gun control, that doesn't mean they go on rampages.

I totally agree that guns should be banned, though. After all, if guns are banned, there will be no more guns in the country. Just like there are no drugs in the country, just like there's no gambling in the country outside Vegas and AC and Indian reservations, just like there was no booze in the country during Prohibition.

Each shooting just continues to prove we need more carry/conceal laws. If those Alzheimer's Patients in North Carolina had just been packing...it could have been stopped. If all those Laotian immigrants applying for citizenship in Binghamton had been strapped...it could have been stopped. If those Pittsburgh police officers had only been allowed to carry, who know what might have happened? If all these toddlers being shot by their unemployed Dads had only been allowed to keep a Glock in their Huggies?

Right on. Because if that neo-nazi had charged those officers with a knife they would be just as dead.

BUt those who criticize do not use that language, as in "Obama may try to put in place more stringent gun control laws" WHat they say is "Obama's goign to take your guns" as if the government were going to knock your house door down and forcefully take your arms.... THis is done in a very irresponsible manner and i know they do it for various reasons, among them to create an "in advance" resentment of Obama, and to drive up gun sales under the guise of fear.... HOwever, i believe this same fear and paranoia is what is driving some of these people, who are a very small the minority (the ones who are nutjobs, or close to them) to do stuff like this under the pretense that the ownership of arms is in danger.........Not to condone their craziness.... but the atmosphere right now driving this message should also be more responsible, less fear-based and more factual.......

    Install a condom? :)

Most people who buy guns legally do take a cource in firearm safety. The ones who don't hold the gun in a sideways position, and only use 1 hand to support it.

How about how to raise your child the right way?
    ----------------

Get this today we celebrated my 2 yr old grand daughters birthday.

2 relatives walk into the place where we held it. They take their coats off, and I see the outlines of 2 guns under the backs of there shirts.

One has to go take a leak. I told him before he went in "Maybe you can tape the gun behind the chain thing" "Then ask permission to go to the bathroom, and come out blazing 2 each in the head."

It was my way of telling them to get out, and leave their guns in their cars then come back. Which they did.

I work with a guy who sold his bass boat and bought some $3000 super rifle that he can't shoot at deer because it's too powerful. When I asked him why the hell he'd do that, his response was 'because after Obama bans all the guns, it'll be worth at least double what I paid for it.'

The really scary part was, one person in the room responded with 'wow, wish I woulda thought of that!'

    I hate living in podunkville.

I'll call bullshit on this one.
    http://www.srrtraining.com/OperationGunStop.htm
"Operation Gun Stop, created by the NYPD, has removed literally thousands of guns from the streets of New York, caused hundreds of arrests to have been made"
    http://community.nycpolicefoundation.org/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=211
"2500 arrests for possession of illegal guns through calls to the Gun Stop hotline"

There has to be some stats somewhere but I think Americans kill each other by far more than those killed in any war or by the terrorists.

The kid responsible for the Erfurt massacre in Germany had gotten plenty of gun training. In fact, the high number of casualties can partly be attributed to that. Among others, he shot a school teacher as she was running away on the parking lot from quite a distance, using a hand gun.

I don't see how making sure those that go off the deep end are less likely to miss is going to help...

Agree that this is a red herring. Just like Heavy Metal, or Rap music, or violent video games.

NZ has massive gun ownership - as boys almost everyone of my father's generation learned to shoot, and most of mine.

These weapons definitely crop up in male suicide. And we've had mass shootings at since WWII....

The problem is people with mental illness.

Also - I am not jumping on the media bandwagon until I see actual proof that this is 'getting out of hand'

Remember the knife crime hysteria in England?
