Would the Hoops have a better record on a smaller pitch?

I've watched FCD three times now and I can come up with only one possible quick fix to our problems: bring the lines in. Forget what you see great teams doing while playing with width. DVB is our only true wide player. I think our team is better suited for a small field. What do you think?

maybe if the other team's forwards were made up of Long John Silver impersonators.

    I guarantee you this....they wouldn't have a worse record.

    * Would the Hoops have a better record with a different President/GM?

    * Would the Hoops have a better record with Steve Morrow?

    * Would the Hoops have a better record with Colin Clarke? (still can't believe he's in the CCL semifinals with a good chance of making the finals)

President/GM can mess with attendance and sponsors and stuff. Same coach and players? Same record.

    Maybe.

    Definitely.

It doesn't really seem like wing play is our problem. We're creating chances, just not finishing, and in back, we're making careless mistakes (Purdy) or being slow (Torres/Pitch).

I'm starting to believe Buzz' prediction that we'll look disjointed and inconsistent early and turn it on later when everyone gets on the same page. At least from Ricchetti forward, we aren't outclassed by anyone, just erratic. The defense should improve a little bit when Dario and Marcelo get back. Not saying we're great, but I dont' think we're the worst team in the like like we looked on Sunday.

In both games this year we have found ourselves falling back to the "knock it over the top" attack play. While this is not the soccer I want to see FCD play, sometimes it will get one in the back of the net (not yet this season of course). Bringing in the lines eliminates that as a possibility.

Go back and watch the away game at RSL last year. On a shrunk pitch, we were playing with a proverbial limp, not unlike every team that had to play there.

Colin Clarke did himself in with FCD, or are we forgetting his terrible personel decisions in his final game ? He may well have learned his lessons since then but he most definately deserved the ax at the time.

LA thought the same thing the last 2 seasons and look where's it gotten them. The HDC might as well be a bowling alley.

this make me think of the 3rd video on this page. http://www.freecreditreportband.com/lyrics/ Instead of posing just the video, I'll post that link, so you can get the lyrics to all 6 songs and watch all sing videos... wow, I can spend hours upon hours on that webpage

Well, this team is pretty slow. And they do seem to have some pretty good technical players who should excel in cramped spaces. So, yes, as much as I hate to admit it, this team would probably do much better on a smaller pitch. I hate the little fields, though. Just looks ugly.

Even if he has something left in the tank I can't see him and SH ever being on the same bus.
