they should..... considering the money and the infrastructure..... I must say.... I have been rather pleased by this edition of the tournament.... a lot of good matches....
Im liking this tournament, I can already tell you the best game in the Semi finals will be the CA vs Islanders match, just because the Islanders will try its mightiest to win.

I forgot that WPS starts this year, once that get's started there should be a change in the forumla. Here is what it should look like: FMF > USL > WPS > MMLS
Nice win for Santos, they shouldn't have had to suffer against a team like Montréal but the important thing is they advanced.
It was heartbreaking at the very end - but in all, Montréal have had a great run, from overturning a first-game loss in the Canadian Championship to clinching the Voyageurs Cup in the final game, to making it past the prelims and putting on a solid performance in the group stages, to packing Olympic Stadium in a game I was priviledged to be at, to being within a minute or so of squeaking into the semis. And if the Islanders qualify for next year's CCL (which they should do, given the relatively easy time they will have of it in this year's CFU club championship) Montréal can look forward to going back to the Champions League next season if they win the Canadian Championship again... or being the highest-finishing non-Mexican CONCACAF team eligible for a Copa Sul-Americana spot if they don't! So, in all, gloat all you want, but I'm damned proud of the run that Montréal put together... and hope that they'll get another shot at the big time sooner rather than later.
I didn't see the game but from the highlights Quintero is a beast lol Guzman owes him a car after the two goals he scored. another final between Cruz Azul and Santos would be good.
someone please make a .gif of the montreal player that screamed home alone style after the dive anyway, i too have been pleased by this tournament. few good games, few good goals, chance to give the youngsters a shot (group stages), chance to see mls fail again. i'll definitely watch the cruz azul islanders game
The USL's remarkable run goes to show what a little motivation and confidence can do for a team. Mexican teams are too busy kissing their biceps when they play against teams that they consider "inferior". I wish mexcian teams would show half the focus that these "inferior" teams do. Then maybe, just maybe, Mexican teams might actually be the power they claim to be instead of the paper tigers that they are. And there is nothing to gloat about when you are forced to score 2 injury time goals to advance in a tournament against a team that you consider beneath you. Santos is damned lucky to still be alive.
cmon texmex.... do not be an opportunist.... for all we know USL could be another Croatia, Senegal, etc
