We always talk about how we don't like X player in the NT and Y player should be removed or whatnot but we don't have accurate pictures of what your ideal Saudi National team is so I'd thought we'd post our line-ups in this thread. Here are the rules:

    #1 Choose 11 starters and 5 substitutes
#2 Assume all players are un-injured and are in good form
#3 Use any formation you want, I doubt you could come up with worse than Al-Johar's 4-5-1 against NK.

Also, this isn't just for the match against Iran but rather the general formation for all matches. And don't be ashamed to put players of your favorite club if you truly believe they are good enough for the NT (GO ALL-HILAL XI SAYF ;) )

    --------------------W.Abdullah--------------------
    ----------O.Hawsawi---------M.Mershadi-----------
    -A.Shuhail----------------------------T.Al-Khiabari-
    --------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------M.Noor----------------------
    -A.Mousa-----------------------------M.Shalhoub-
    -------------------------------------------------
    -----Y.Al-Qahtani--N.Shamrani---S.Al-Harthi------

    SUBS:Y.Musaliem,O.Ghamdi,E.Meyhani,A.Bahri,S.Nemri

    So in all
    Hilal (5 players)
    Yaser Al-Qahtani
    Mohammed Al-Shalhoub
    Osama Hawsawi
    Majed MershediOmar Al-Ghamdi
    Al Wehda (3 players)

    Talal Al-Khiabari
    Ahmed Al-Mousa
    Eisa Meyhani
    Al-Shabab (3 players)
    Nasser Al-Shamrani
    Waleed Abdullah
    Ahmed Shuhail
    Ittihad (2 players)
    Mohammed Noor
Sultan Al-Nemri (he plays for itti right?)
    Al-Nasr (2 players)
    Saad Al-Harthi
    Ahmed Al-Bahri
    Al-Ahli (1 player)
    Yasser Al Musaileem

Note that in the 4-3-3 above, I played all three forwards as strikers. So Harthi and Qahtani are not winger forwards. I debated putting Yasser in the center but thought that Al-Shamrani's greater physical strength benefits him more in this area and Qahtani would have more room to manouever a bit more on the flank.

Here's what I believe Saudi Arabia should be playing like (3-4-3) and the players should be as follows:

    --------------------W.Abdullah--------------------
    -----O.Hawsawi--------------------Redha Tukar-----
    --------------------Khalid Aziz---------------------
    --------------------------------------------------
    ---------------Noor-----------Shalhoub-----------
    ----A.Mousa-----------------------------A.Otaif---
    --------------------------------------------------
    ------------Y.Al-Qahtani------Malek Moath---------
    ---------------N.Shamrani or S.Harthi----------------

I think if Saudis play an attacking football then this should be their formation.

    Ahmed Otaif
    Mohammad Noor
Taysir Al-Jassem (or maybe Abdoh Otaif)

Keeper - Daeye or Waleed I don't care

Central defence - the two Osamas! Why you ask? a) I don't rate the Puyol lookalike and b) we need a big imposing physical thug.
Right back - Bahri I guess
Left back - Saqri. Controversial, but I think he's doing good things at the moment. All rounder.

    D. midfield - Kariri and Aziz. They are the only two we've got

Left midfield - Nemri (How's Abdulrahman alQahtani these days?)

    O. midfield - Noor

Attack - Yasser and Malek. Malek will have to drift to the right though to balance the shape of the team.

he's always played left back for Ittihad, and the national team for that matter.

Fair enough, but Osama Al-Muwallad isn't much better. Marshadi is a big guy too you know, and at least he's good in the air.

I would put Muwallad at RB.

    I picked Sagri as well ^ ^ ^. He's experienced, he's a good crosser, and he's good with set-pieces. I don't know why he's being ignored.

Ahmad Otaif is playing well these days. I think Kariri should just be back-up to Aziz.
