Kind of, as well as wearing DC gear to US games. Losers.

Because their FO was committed to having a vibrant supporter's culture at the team's inception and didn't wait 13 years to come around to the idea? ;)

Figured I'd introduce myself... hopefully I won't regret it ;)

The Rev has brought me on this year to help with the beergarden, pre-game parties, outside promotions at bars, etc. I'm even putting a promo team of "hot chicks" together...

I've had experience with this when I was working for the Charleston Battery.
Sooo, if you feel like griping more about MLS marketing, you can send that my way, and I'll see what I can do (...immediately regretting this! ha)

Please tell me this is for promos away from the stadium only. I will really have a problemn if they have any part in game day activities, ala the "ice girls".

Convince the Phoenix Landing in Central Square to always show away games. Hot chicks and money should do the trick.

I'm convincing them to create a small beer garden behind the fort... just some pub tables and beer carts... a place where you can watch when you're not in your seat (or a place to wander when you figure out you've been placed in the "family" section?).

The Revs Girls are NOT dancers, NOT cheerleaders, and I can promise you they won't take anything away from your soccer. Of course they will be at the games, but think more in terms of give aways and promoting defendthefort.com, not doing cartwheels on the pitch,.

Finding an away game watch location or two is first on my list,

    Thanks guys and girls.

FWIW, http://djsatthegarden.com/ is a great spot. We held several away viewings there last year. They loved having us and support the Revolution and Midnight Riders on their website...

I'd imagine this will be the Riders away viewing location again this year...

To be fair the Phoenix Landing is ground zero for soccer in Boston and if the Revs could convince the Landing to show away games 100% of the time it would probably better suit their stated goals than DJs.

DJs is fine but it still primarily caters to the "Soccer is for girls, Europeans, and queers" crowd, dudeguy.

    Garrett, shut up.

Besides I already bought my 50 dollar gift cert (for $25 bucks through WEEI) for DJ's. So at the very least I will be watching some away games there.

garrett, i'm starting to think you are being paid by PL for every person you bring in. the PL is pretty inconvenient to get to unless you live on the redline. there is also little parking (same can be said about DJs, but no one drives into downtown boston). DJs has more and better beer which is the same price as PL (~$5 for good, $4 for crap). I'll give you that PL food is cheaper, but i think it's better at DJs. On the whole, I think it's a toss up between the two. I know you live close to the PL and you go watch arsenal there, but seriously, give it a rest. It's by no means "ground zero fo boston soccer" cause you and liverpoole boston go there

Well... it is the bar for AO Boston as well, but I agree with your point. It just will not work for Revs games.

I think when people think of soccer in Boston they think of the Phoenix Landing and the Celtic bars...just my two cents. Maybe we can change that...who knows.

To be fair find me a bar in Boston, a real bar, that has great parking?
    I don't think you will.

Right, because at least dancers and cheerleaders have SOME talent. The only requirements listed to be a "revs girl" is to be over 21 and look good in "form fitting clothes".

Defend the Fort was a Riders slogan. It pisses me off to see if being used this way.

Not to mention the Landing has some other stuff going on weekend nights. A bunch of Revs fans aren't going to convince them to give up all the money they make in cover charges on a given Saturday night.

    Pipe dream.

I have only been to DJ's once for the playoff game. I like the place, but the crowd there ( aside from us ) sucked. Bruins fans were cheering for Shitcago on the way out the door & one of my friends got chased down the street on his bike by drunk Bruins fans. On the plus side, I do like their beer selection better, and it can't hurt for Celtics & Bruins fans to see us having a blast watching our team.

PL is great. I have gotten used to the fact that my order gets messed up atleast 1x per trip there. I think if it didn't, I would be a little sad. Anyway, I would go to either place.

I heard something about the Revs doing a "pub tour" type thing with the players, is that going to happen?

This is true, but can you convince the PL to hold off the bad house music DJs and skeevy "Night At The Roxbury" reject guys for a few hours and show away games?

Oh and uh madriverchick, you might wanna at least brief these ladies about soccer so they have some knowledge, or they're going to get laughed at some of the soccer bars. Probably not to their faces, but probably to ours. ;)

Many of these girls have played soccer for most of their lives, but I'll keep that in mind.
