I think the Revs did well today. Considering how few roster slots are open and the reasonable quality of the draft picks I agree with above posters who see a fierce fight for roster slots.
I guess Nicol disagrees with you Steve. Anyway, I'm really surprised that we kept and used all seven picks. And thoroughly confused as to their plan.
this is interesting because I thought I'd read he had limitted action at the combine because he was injured. Nicol must have seen something special
That makes two of us. ...and Ryan Maxwell is Jamaican, and I haven't found any indication that he's got a Green Card. That would leave the Revs at their limit of seven Internationals. Ryan Maxwell (Jamaica) Gabriel Badilla (Costa Rica) Mauricio Castro (Honduras) Kheli Dube (Zimbabwe) Kenny Mansally (Gambia) Sainey Nyassi (Gambia) Argenis Fernandez (Costa Rica) We're at 27 players right now. We didn't take anyone (...to my knowledge) who's interested in Europe. We've got three Generation Adidas players (Valentino, Igwe, Alston), which means either Knighton or Tierney is getting promoted to the senior roster or shipped out. Tierney might be in danger since Alston can take his spot.
Plan A: have warm bodies for training camp. Plan B: get lucky and find that >1 of the draftees can contribute Plan C: beats me.
That soundsa bout right. I'm going to cross my fingers that 3 of the 7 players drafted actually 'make' the team (i.e. contribute)
Gotsmanov was the one who was injured. He played on day 1, sat out day 2, and tried day 3 but could only go 20 minutes.
