From the Red Bulls Wrap on RBNY's website. Shep Messing said it will take nine points with a combination of RBNY Wins & FC Dallas Loses that will give RBNY that playoff spot. So right now these last three matches or it could be these next two matches if they can take out RSL Thursday, it's going to be in their favor.
Not really entirely true though - yes FC Dallas is the closest competitor but DC, KC, and to a lesser extent SJ, LA, and TFC are still not eliminated. So even if FC Dallas loses their last three that doesn't guarantee RBNY a playoff spot. It would make it a strong possibility - but certainly not a guarantee. Realistically I think KC might make a run but I am pretty sure all the other teams in contention play each other and will take points from each other. I wouldn't be surprised to see the East still take five spots with NY and KC grabbing the last two.
Lets put this, this way, to eliminate the competence, we need a combo of 3 games with: DAL, CLR, KCW and DCU and two Games with TOR, SJE and LAG.... --- DAL & CLR. have 34 Points Probables points to make 43...>We need the 3 games KCW & DCU hsve 33 ..."........................................42...>We need the 3 games TOR-------have..31 ..."........................................40...>We need 2 games SJE...........have..30 ..."........................................39...> we need 2 games and LAG....have...29 ..."........................................38...>We need 2 games
Well we need COL, DC, DAL & KC to lose three points and or draw and if RBNY can get the win in Salt Lake & a win back home against the Crew. I don't think the last game in Chicago will be that much of a bother. But like I said they need to win this Thrusday night in Salt Lake.
