It's less about the incident and more about how ineptly stadium security handled it.

they were to busy worring about the home fans and what they might do, that a bunch of drunk opposing fans were able to walk up and start a confrontation and in the end, the crew fans are getting shit for the incident.

Can I ask if away fans do visit are they given their own section and escorted in and out?

I mean if they don't have this in place why have security at all?

Its so simple they do it with 1000's of england fans every week, and the only incidents tend to happen away from the ground.

But with small numbers of away fans visiting mls stadiums there should never be any problems.

Makes you wonder what the security people actually do.

can't compare it to england at all, they have much heavier security (and more professional) in place (both staff and camera). There is a history there which doesn't exist here. We're in two very different places as leagues.

MLS will have to step it up a bit, but we are far from the problems over there (so far) so it's not typically necessary. I've gone over to the visiting fans side at gillette when TFC was here, when NY was here and had very friendly conversations with opposing fans. I know tons visiting fans come into the riders lot and hang before and after games. Incidents are a rarety here. Sure there are duchebags, but it's not the norm.
I've gone to NJ for games. I had an incident on the way back to my car with 3 rb fans... they were just drunk idiots who were all talk. I'm 100% sure they weren't ESC. They were just idiots. Nothing really happened. It was jsut smack talk. By in large the massive majority of fans are just there to have fun and watch a game, maybe a little taunting and smack talk, but few are looking for fight.
Could it all start to go horribly wrong? yes.
Will it? I doubt it. The real fans are there for the game, not the other shit.

If I'm going to drive 12 hrs to columbus and spend $200 on gas, $100+ on a hotel, plus beer and food, am I going to get tossed for a fight? Not unless someone goes after me. Are the kids up in the nodeck who spend their money week in and week out looking to risk getting tossed or possibly banned for life? no. Real escilations are rare. typcially there is someone level headed on each side to keep two knuckleheads from going off the wall. Having said that it only takes 1 idiot to trigger a problem

Re: When will it stop....in Columbus?

I'd go further and say any club any stadium in any league in the world.

    You guys did nothing worng.

With regard to your avatar and location and club stuff. you are only dispised until it's time to market the league, no doubt they will be eager to show pics of you and your cohorts.... gotta love the double standard:rolleyes:
