I know this is last minute, but I'm in Kansas City this weekend and have decided to go to the Wizards' game. I've been all over the country the past month and have managed to stop and see games in Salt Lake City and Commerce City (as well as my close to home Columbus). Although I am a Crew fan, it wasn't my deciding factor in going to tonight's game (in fact, I didn't find out the opponent until I had decided to attend). With that out of the way, I'm curious about tickets. Should I purchase in advance, or will walkup be fine for a single ticket? I see the capacity is smaller than I anticipated. Also, where's a good place to sit. I won't sit in the Cualdron for obvious reasons, but the layout looks haphazard and I want to make sure I'm close to the field, but still be able to see most of the action. If so, what section would you recommend. As well as best to see the Cauldron as that's part of the fun of going to games. Also, how much would a cab be from downtown Kansas City, KS to the stadium be, as I have no transportation of my own. Sykotyk P.S., I'm going to be buying a Wizards' scarf (a tradition I started with each venue I go to) and am just looking for a good game, win lose or draw, for either club.
We have an extra ticket in the Crew group. Find me at the tailgate and we'll hook you up. (painted face, BS screenname on the back of my jersey)
I was going to offer a ride but I don't even have a car myself, let me speak to my car owner, she might not want to return to Downtown directly though....
If there are any tickets left, they are sitting on the grass. They were down to 400 tickets yesterday, I wouldn't be surprised if they're gone now. Cab fare, I have no idea, although are you sure you are in downtown KCK? There's nothing in "downtown" KCK to speak of. Just boarded up buildings and run down neighborhoods for the most part, so I will assume you mean KCMO. I would suggest calling Yellow Cab and just asking them how much they would estimate, but since you have no other options I don't think it really matters. 816-471-5000.
I'm actually further southwest than I thought from what I'd guess you'd call 'downtown' KCK. Anyways, thanks for the help. Sykotyk
Great! I'll try to find something 'Crewish' to wear. Didn't ever plan to be able to attend a Crew game in KC, you know. Where about in the parking lot will you be? How early will you be there, and how much? Thanks, Sykotyk
thankfully you didn't reply to me anyways but the car owner said she didn't want to pick up any strays- sorry
