That said, Sweden lost to the Ukraine yesterday. The same Ukraine that looked a shower against us! The wonders of football.
As MVB was a striker, I think he means from the perspective of an attacker. Meaning that there are few defenders that an attacker would rather face than Joris . . .
They're not that weak! Wales is ranked (51) above countries like Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Ecuador & Macedonia Perhaps rankings dont mean much but they do give a rough idea where a nation stands.
They have a history like that against us. Remember that 7-1 game in 1997??? If it wasnt for their keeper it wouldve been 15-1
I think they do, too. I bet if you were to ask a Chelsea fan about Robben, they probably wouldn't consider his time there very memorable and therefore wouldn't consider him that great of a loss (hence why they let him go so easily), but I believe he was more of an asset and more integral than he was given credit for being (again, all of this because of the injuries). And yet now they love Joe Cole and talk of how dangerous he is despite the fact he doesn't compare in terms of pace or passing ability, and he may not even be a better finisher (they also tend to completely ignore his diving even though he's as theatrical as they come).
I have a question for those who watched this game. I was looking at photos of this game today at work, and in all the photos I saw (five or six photos with five or six different players) the players were wearing black boots. Even guys like Robben, Sneijder, and van Nistelrooij had on black, and those three always seem to wear white (or something not black). So, was there some significance to that, or was it just coincidence? And did every player have black boots on? It's not really important, but it just struck me as curious.
I didn't notice it myself - but a good thing all the same. I hate the poncey gold boots in particular.
You're suffering from a serious Orange fever, very dangerous. You should keep bed for the next 4 weeks and avoid watching football at all costs
