I think I'm going to have to train my current crop until they are 23 or 24 years old to make them the completed article...I'm not sure that is a good idea though. To the same not, like you said, there really aren't guards worth buying out there.
Anyone else think a market crash is coming soon? Looking at the most cash infused teams in the world (Div I): -$1.2M per year from TV ~$3.3M per year from tickets ($300k per home game*11) ~$1.2M per year from the cup ($150k per cup game*8) =$5.8M per year Yet, the best players in the game are consistently selling for over half of that. Is this really sustainable?
I'm not sure I could cite specifics, but my feeling is that players inflated to double value right before the playoffs in both of the last two seasons. That is partly why I'm considering selling my team off...although I am in negotiations currently to buy one of the best SF's in the game at what is probably too high of a price.
You also make money on training, and whoever you purchase is likely replacing someone that will be sold. I made two big non-trainee upgrades this year (2.7m and 1.7m), and the players they replaced went for 650k and 700k. So net thats 3m, leaving room for prob one more big upgrade. At first I thought there would be a high deprecation on players, but even the ones i didnt train are appreciating. Just don't see prices coming down until the salaries really start to make a dent. Likely won't have a player break the 40k/week range until middle of next season at the earliest. Compared to HT where I'm running fairly neutral (not including income from training), I'm bringing in prob 50% more revenue and expenses are about half. Plus I'm making much more return on training in BB.
Yeah, after this season it will be really hard for lower level teams to hold onto the top players, at least without sucking for it. There will have to be some readjusting...but we're probably still at least two seasons out from there being a mature set of players within the game. I think the increased training rates should be extended up to about 24 y/o, really, only the very best 19 and 20 y/o players should be seeing minutes once the players are matured.
Ha, I'd never sink that low I'm just trying to get a guy to list a player that very few would have the money for. After a little more research, I'm not sure he has the skill set I was looking for though. We'll see.
I love my SF, as he has the skillset everyone would be looking for! I'll let you know when he is available in about 20-22 seasons.
Anyone know the cut off to add players for the playoffs, last league game, prior to the first playoff?
not for certain buy last season it was that a player had to be listed by the thursday before the final league games.
I was negotiating for 3 mill, but didn't really expect to get him for that. I don't have any plans to train ID, so I don't really think he is worth that much to me unless I wanted to make a SG out of him.
Prob the best outside player Ive ever seen on the market. That sensational/sensational/prolific center that was on this weekend prob the best overall player.
I just think he is overtrained in JS...not saying I'd turn him down, but I think I could get a similar guy after the playoffs for 2 mill. Another couple pops in the high skills and I bet he costs 30k a week.
Even that bloke sucks balls, can only hit a jump shot (although very well) Would make a good trainee though.
Yeah, I don't want to pay that kind of wage for a guy that won't start over another trainee with half the wage. This seems to be a recurring problem with many of the players on that I see on the transfer list. Maybe it's people not getting that this game isn't as obvious as hattrick.
so the bulls survived an away CT to set up a massive big 8 final against vik warriors, good luck stogey
Thanks man, thankfully I'm at home. At least I've secured my fourth trophy, but I definitely would like to win the cup again.
