Well, just cuz you guys feel hurt, betrayed, and 2nd hand dont mean he still isnt an option. Like Peru has this luxury of excluding players. Peru's futbol is in a deeper hole than Vasquez's Swedish flag :D

Alright I guess I have to accept the fact that there are people out there that think like you.
Put it this way, I would prefer players like Guerrero and Vargas who will give it their all for their country. Yes, Peru may not be Vasquez's country, but he made a whole country look like fools by playing with them with the intentions of creating interest so that he would be called up by Sweden, not by Peru. He played his cards right and it seems like Sweden's U21 is about to call him.
Ok fine, you don't care about these things, maybe you're just concerned about results, which we all are.. but even if he ended up being a Messi, why bother with a player which never had no interest in playing on your team anyways? This can only result in nothing but another case of the Pizarritis, only caring with your own success with your club team, money, and fame... and nothing to do with your seleccion.
I hope nothing but bad things for this guy... if indeed he proves to be the person he seems to be.

Haha, you tell me how many players give everything for the Peru sele?

You can barely use 3 fingers, and the results show that.

Im all for closing this thread. Fcuk him. What pisses me the most is that video where he pretends to be peruvian and saying that he would like to play for the national team.BS!! Its very insulting what he did, to all peruvians , and even more to those players waiting to be called, and this ******** jumps to the top of the list because a fcuking lucky rabona gol.
Its the periodistas fault too, for creating this hype around a player that is nothing. Fcuk him, Fcuk his family and his girlfriend.........in the @ss.

    Thread Closed.

    Same here.

We could have done without all the theatrics. The interviewed his dad over the phone today and he said something like "no lo llamaron cuando debieron de haberlo llamado."

So HE gets to decide when the NT should call him up??

Never had to ask more than once.

    I agree with his dad.

Chemo acts like he didnt need to call up Vasquez before, why now?

    And for a friendly?

Call him up for the WCQ.

This is a friendly against costa rica for crying out loud.

Even if we kill them, highly unlikely, its not the level of Conmebol.

So you want Chemo to have called up this diva when he didn't even know if he was any good or not? And we still don't know. When noone had ever seen him play you wanted hi called up just because he was in Europe. If Chemo had done that it would have benn highly irresponsible and stupid. Chemo has to call him up for a freindly to see if he is good or can play along with the rest, but this guy wants to come when he fells like it. ******** that, if he wants to play for Peru he has to get tryed out first and thats what the freindlies are for. He isn't Maradona or nothing, all we know about him is his rabona, and just because of that he doesn't deserve a call up, he has to show what he's got first, hence why there are freindlies. He probably won't get called up since the remaining freindlies are for the full team, with the players that made it through the 'try-outs' and the regulars. Whatever, we have plenty of other talent.

Whatever man, they dont make any sense whatsoever.

Try-outs? This is Peru we're talking about. One day play good, the next day @ the pub all day. They can have a great try-out and play unbelievably well and then match time? What happens? Do you need me to tell you?

In the end, its not up to us, its between the coach and player.

this Rabona guy is a jerk....I had been following his story thinking it was pretty cool how he had picked peru and now he wants to leave and join the swiss team....eff him, he is nowhere near farfan or guerrero....hell he isn't better than the guy that plays for once caldas...only reason he is "playing abroad" is because he lives there!

I am surprised you express your sarcasm when I assumed you would "get" what I had said , I meant that he is swiss isn't he? and doesn't he play in the swiss league or the one in switzerland...its not like he had to fight his way through sport boys and then to allianza lima or universitario and then signed a huge contract as an international with Zurich...no the dude was raised there and just played for teams....no big success story, he barely gets playing time....

What the hell is the difference. He still had to tryout for the team, and him being a minority in a Euro country is already a negative to boot. Obviously they liked something ehhh.

your right, maybe it was that little smiley face that bothered me, but regardless, he might be a minority but there are factors to consider:

He doesn't take up the space of an international, as almost all Peruvian players on European teams do, which means he doesn't require a special visa and a whole legal process just so he can be the team's player, which is usually reserved for guys that are pretty good to deserve this treatment.

He wasn't scouted by european investors that had to fly all the way down to Peru and analyze his game and sign contracts with foreign clubs ...he just made a team in his home country.

And as a minority, well he certainly is Peruvian, but he isn't really the type that can't pass for Swiss. The guy looks pretty white and I am sure it would be tougher for a guy like Solano or Guerrero, who play in very white countries but excell as darker latin futballers...

Stoke City consider bid for Andres Vasquez

Potters like the look of skilful Swedish youngster…

    13 Nov 2009 16:44:05

By Lewis Jones Stoke City are considering offering Andres Vasquez a chance to end his frustrating spell with FC Zurich.
Vasquez, 22, is perhaps best-known for scoring what was hailed as 'the world's greatest goal' against Orebro in 2007, when he chipped the ball into the net from behind his standing leg with his opposite foot (a trick known as a 'rabona').
"I know it might be possible," Vasquez told Expressen on the possibility of a move to Stoke.
"Right now, I just want to join a club where I get the chance to play and get some security.
"I want to change club as soon as possible. No, I don't regret coming here [to Zurich] but it could have gone better."

Although it has been stated that his lack of first-team action with Zurich is purely based on contractual matters, I doubt he could hack it into the EPL.
