Hi Guys, I just started this new link in order to help the Saudis in general and Saudis F.A. in particular, to enhance their soccer standards so that they can compete against the big teams of the world.

With your support, I hope that the Saudi F.A. and the Saudi people would come to know that this string in our forum is working with a mission to upgrade and improve the standards of Saudi players and game so that they attain the skills as required in modern day soccer.

In this link, we will only give suggestions to the Saudi Players, F.A., and hope that they follow them in the best interest of Saudi Soccer. We will not criticize anyone but infact, give suggestion to improve. I also require all of you Saudi guys to advertise this string and forum in all the Saudi media so that the Saudi F.A. (Prince Naif, Prince Sultan and other higher officials) look towards the suggestions given in this forum and especially in this string. So, e-mail this forums' string to all your friends and also try to e-mail or advertise to the Saudi F.A. and sports channel. The rest depends upon all of you!

I start by suggesting that Saudi Players and F.A. should do the following:

    1. Send the Saudi Players into European clubs and it should be noted that the Saudi players should play in weak or middle of the table team so that they get the chance to play in the first eleven like Fulham of England which is in the bottom half of the table and its president is an Egyptian who I believe will take Saudi players in.
    2. The Saudi coaches should also be trained under foreign coaches and they should take their local Saudi clubs to other countries of the world especially Europe and play friendly matches there so that the form & skills of the upcoming players grow and enhance and that all of them gain crucial experience.
    3. Former Saudi Players should be linked-up with the present Saudi Team i.e., Majeed Abdullah and Fahad Al Gashyan can become a part of the team by joining the field technical committee of the team which Waqar Younus of Pakistan is doing in the Pakistan's Cricket Team. These players will pass on their invaluable experience to the members of the present Saudi Soccer team and will give them necessary tips and guidelines of what to do and when to do i.e., the proper and perfect utilization of skills and its timings.
    4. Former players can also become commentators of TV and then they should communicate with each team player regarding the performance given in the match in which they commentated on and tell them what to do and when to do etc. (Just like Sunil Gavaskar & Ravi Shastari who do commentary on ESPN and gives necessary tips to the Indian Cricket Team after / before the match.

I again repeat that somehow, you Saudi friends also have to play your role here and must get the F.A.’s higher officials’ attention on this forum and especially on this string.

Hope that you guys play your part positively, aggressively and quickly; in the best interest of Saudi Soccer!

Keep your suggestion coming and hope that some higher Saudi Soccer official reads them and if Paqueta reads these and other suggestions then I think that he got the guds to take the Saudi team to much higher grounds. What do all of you guys say? Well..., just e-mail this forums' link to any Saudi F.A. official and ask him to join the forum and God knows better that probably some better solution might come up that will improve the Saudi Soccer Standards and Saudi start beating the likes of Spain, Portugal, Argentina and so on....

Some of the ideas can work AFTER the WC. If we do good in the upcoming WC, we might see some players move to Europe, and usually after the WC, which is usually the time when you began to build your team, look for new coaches, and place new suggestions for the Saudi soccer.

I think the #1 idea is to put players overseas..it works.

Also, practices need to be more strict. From what Ive heard foreign players and coaches say about the Mid East practices - the players don't take them seriously. Many players show up and make excuses about being late saying "their mothers were sick so they had to take them to the hospital" LOL! yes...this happens in the Saudi, UAE and Qatari league! If you come late to practice in Europe, or EVEN the U.S., they send you back home! Also...they need to bring coaches who will actually "OVERWORK" the players. No more of these holiday practices, because these sheikhs tell the coach to ease up after players complain. Enough is enough. This goes for not only KSA, but the surrounding countries as well. ;)

Lets have players in good form at the beginning of the year, instead of towards the middle

Guys I just sent below-mentioned e-mail to Saudi FA as well as Saudi Player Agents in KSA hoping that they might influence the Saudi FA if the e-mail is ignored.

Subject: FIFA's facts about KSA which should be rectified by SAFF through playing more International Games.‏

    Respected Sirs,

First of all, I invite you to view the following link to know the opinions of International Saudi Soccer Fans regarding Saudi National Team: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1072

Secondly, given-below is a fact that FIFA has quoted about KSA on their Official website.

FIFA quotes about KSA Football: "...... The Sons of the Desert continued to dominate the continental qualifying stage as they went on to reach the next three editions of FIFA World Cup finals. Despite the qualifying successes, however, they failed to progress beyond the group phase on each occasion.

One evident reason behind Saudi Arabia's disappointment was their vulnerability when playing against European opponents. One of Asia's technically strongest sides, Saudi Arabia have somehow developed an inferiority complex against the physically superior European teams. In all previous eight FIFA World Cup meetings with European teams, they have won just once and lost seven times, conceding 24 goals while scoring only 2 along the way.

Saudi Arabia may have impressed in the qualifying campaign for the previous FIFA World Cup, topping a group featuring Korea Republic, Uzbekistan and Kuwait, but a lack of competitive internationals in their preparatory process saw them struggle again in the group stage at Germany 2006, where they claimed a point from a meeting with Tunisia but lost to Ukraine and Spain...."

Logon to FIFA's webpage (http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/asia/teams/team=43835/index.html) for complete reference check.

You are requested to kindly look into the matter and rectify by building a much stronger team with Strong & well built Central Mid Field Player that can be Talal Al Meshal, alongwith a striking partner with Yasir Al Qahtani (like Fahad Al Gheshyan used to be) as well as a New Goal Keeper who should also be tall, strong, well built and not poor against high balls. The defenders should also be well prepared & should know how to defend against the set pieces.

    Thanking You.

    Sincerely,

    S. Hammad Al Karim
Loving Fan of Saudi Soccer & specially Fahad Al Gheshyan.

A nice written email, good luck with it. Though we are doing well IMO, we played an international game with Ghana, and we are expected to play more soon. Also we should compare the West Asian Games with the Arab Games, we did bad in both, but in one we fired a coach, and another we didn't. Even though both did well before the tournament, so the FA has changed somewhat.

How are we doing good??? In the last game against Egypt, KSA had only 4 attempts on goal while Egypt had 22 i.e., 04:22 !!!

If it would have been atleast 15:22 then it was O.K. Otherwise, its not.

Sacking Calderon was the pure example on how stupid our FA that's led by a couple of Princelings actually is! Because he refused to play with his first team in the West-Asian games they sacked him after losing to the Olympic Iraqi team for 5-0 , they're insane. Simply because it's an almost friendly competition and nobody heard of it they just fired him because he's no pushover like Anjos.

Our current coach is only staying because he listens to the higher ups.

As much as I admire your proposal Hammad, I doubt they'll listen to you because they have a very corrupt underlings that run things in the FA.

You're just wasting your time, I'm very sorry to inform you that our FA is reserved for TRHs.

If every one things in the similar fashion then no initiative will be taken by anyone. It is always better to do something than to do nothing and just sit around and be a silent observer. Aziz, I have or should I say, "We" have not taken the initiative to be listened or to be agreed upon, it is just that we don't want to be silent and let things happen as they are happening!!! I think some saudi FA official must have visited this forum thats why things seems to be heading gradually in a right direction. Only signs of improvement in a gradual pace can be felt. So, let your voices be coming through this forum and continue to give suggestions that you feel are best.

The official website of AFC www.the-afc.com/en/home/ is having voting on what was the major factor that led to Saudi not Qualifying to the World Cup ... These result of the votes will be seen by the Saudi FA so, I guess all of you Saudi Fans have to go and give the vote in favour of the reason that you feel is the main reason for Saudi not qualifying to the world cup.

By the way, the four main reasons given in the survey for voting are:

    1. Frequent Change of Coaches
    2. Over-reliance over a couple of players
    3. Strength of the revial team Bahrain
    4. Yasser Al Qahtani's poor form

    Just cast your vote

I would choose Frequent change of coaches since that is an FA decision.

How exactly do we do that? We can't force European clubs to take our players!

I think what he meant is that, allow the players to play in Europe. I think its pretty obvious the FA and the clubs arnt into this idea even if the say otherwise.

Well what I meant was that... from what I understand many of Saudi players don't bother playing abroad because they're paid well at home. So why would they bother playing abroad and go through all the trouble. Al-Qahtani may be the best player in Saudi Arabia or Asia but does he have what it takes to play at the world level (I'm not saying he can't)? If so what has he proven?

The "fact" that Saudi players are paid well at home is actually a Myth. The highest weekly wage ever paid to a player si Mohammed Noor, who is paid approx 24000$ a week which is around 14,500 quid a week. Not exactly a huge sum by premiership standards

It's time to Aim for the following tournaments:

Number One Goal: Asian Cup 2011

Number Two Goal: Qualify for the London Olympics 2012
(Naif Hazzazi will be playing in this team as I believe he is less than 23 years of age and according to FIFA rules, only 3 players are allowed above 23 years to play in these matches)

Number Three Goal: Qualify & Play Best at all the Regional & International Tournaments.

Above-all Goal: Qualify to World Cup 2014 at any cost !

Time to break out the bribe funds. :D

He'll be 22 or 23 at that time yes. I just hope they don't burn him out by playing him in both the U23 and Senior team.
