As a mannered human being (Vietnamese), I am extremely concern about the lack of manner being displayed by modern people. People these days are rude and selfish, why is that?
I think we should bring back corporal punishment to teach those punk a lesson!!!!!!!

You have never been to continental Europe, have you?

That said, I am not a punk. But it's still not deemed totally negative over here.

It's a joke. Cascarino is suggesting that the seat has been "kidnapped" and the $50 is a ransom demand.

Anyway, I don't know where this happened, but I thought it was pretty standard practice to remove your bike seat when parked in certain areas, like train stations. Not so much because the seat could be stolen (that's a new one on me!) but because it would make riding your bike away a much less-attractive proposition.

maybe someone had a bike nearby that wasn't secured safely but had it's seat removed.

the bike thief, of cunning nature, took the seat from the thread starters bike and spliced it together with the other stolen two-wheeler. hence making it more difficult to trace!!

yes, some people these days are so rude but alas, also so damn cunning and conniving...

4 years ago in the same place, me and other people just leave the our bicycles there, no lock what-so-ever, and nothing happened, we can leave it overnight and nothing will happen to it....

now the street is full of idiots.........

Sorry about your situation ntn1987, but I think this thread is humorous - a lot more humorous - than that "FC Königsberg 1724" thread at the homepage (which also showed how "kicks" can easily be abused - props to those posters for proving so, however).

depends what part of Canada. in the north, people will see you leave your bikes and say "What idiots, you can't bike in all this snow." But in Toronto, you'll get shot then they'll take your bike from you. In Quebec they'll try and steal your bike but you can always get it back by just going to either the corner store (where the Quebecers buy smokes) or the strip joint (which, ironically, is on pretty much every corner as well in Quebec. Out in BC, they'll try and steal your bike and then while formulating a plan they'll forget what they were planning on stealing (because they're all stoners, and Marijuana affects the memory). But out in Alberta, they all ride horses so there's no need for them to steal your bike :p

Don't take this personally but there's some scarily extremist right-wing sounds coming from Australia these days. Has the country always been that way?

    ---------------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------------------------------------------
    are you sick of:
    -Lebanese gang rapes
    -Arab gangs
    -Muslim terrorism
    -Asian invasion
    do you:
    -love your country
    -care for your kids

    Join the Australia KKK.........
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------

I heard its way way worst in Russia!!

i spend most mornings stealing bike seats. then i video tape the victims. it's more fun than you think...

the market for video tapes of stolen bike seat victims has sadly diminished here in SoCal, but it's booming in Sydney;)

ps: i am not a punk
