    Name That Mascot !
Tide holding contest to name the new Tacoma Tide Mascot.

The Tacoma Tide will soon have a club mascot. At this time, the mascot’s name and type are for the fans of the Tacoma FC to decide. A description of what the mascot would look like and why should be submitted. Pictures are also welcome.

Email your idea to pgarlock@mvppt.com - Please submit your name, email address, and phone number with the idea so we can contact you if you win.

2 wins will clinch playoff spot for Tide!

With BYU's 1-0 win over Ogden the Tacoma Tide now know exactly what it will take to clinch a playoff spot: 2 more wins.

Tacoma have 23 points in the standings right now.

The most points Ogden can earn if they win out is 26. The most Spokane can earn if they win out is 27.

Two more wins (somewhere in their last 4 matches) would give TFC 29 points, and a playoff spot!

    Remaining TFC matches:

    July 13 at Cascade
    July 14 Yakima
    July 20 at Spokane
    July 21 at Abbotsford

    Tacoma are in the playoffs!

    TFC 5:0 Yakima Reds

You'll want to see the video highlight reel that contains two TFC goals, including yet another stunning free kick strike by Ciaran O'Brien...

UW Husky defender Steve Mohn had his leg broken in Friday's 2-1 win in Salem. He'll miss the entire year for the Dawgs.

Hey Sounderfan, do you know if you're going to bid to be hosting the Western Conference playoffs this year? I'm just wondering because - if the gods are smiling and the San Fernando Valley Quakes DO make the playoffs - I'm going to have to start maybe thinking about making travels plans to come to Tacoma, or Provo UT, or wherever...

So THAT'S how they do that? Bidding process?

Well then...Yes, I'd say Tacoma will bid. Their website says the date / place are TBD, meaning they must think it *might* be at home. (?)

I'll email their PR guy and ask.

The Tide FO says they are *not* bidding on hosting any playoffs this season. The club internal organization is not at the same (fast) developing level as the club on the pitch. (Really only been one year for them, 2 on the pitch for the team).

The Tide hope to grow into an organization that has the $$$ and crowd support to host playoff matches in the future.

So, don't get a ticket to Tacoma (except to visit the beautiful Puget Sound area, of course. ;) ).

Thanks Sounderfan. Looks like it's going to be Provo, Ventura, Fresno or San Jose!

And now it looks like either Fresno or Ventura - depending on which one qualifies.

Sounderfan, assuming the SFV Quakes qualify, will you be coming down to SoCal for the playoffs? If so, we MUST get together before the games.
