I moved here from Dallas, there are many soccer stores around town there, but I've only been able to find Soccer Master and another on Metcalf here. Would you mind telling me where other stores are around town (preferably in the olathe/overland park area). I would really like to find one with lots of euro and MLS jerseys. The two I found didn't have much. Thanks for any help you might offer.
Your best bet for Euro jerseys is Soccer Master at 91st & Metcalf (where you've already been). The other store I assume you found was probably Soccer Express at 143rd & Metcalf. They have a few Euro jerseys, but not many. I don't know of any others in town that actually carry jerseys. Sometimes you can find a jersey at the Adidas or Nike store at Village West just north of I-70 off I-435.
A standard Dick's Sporting Goods will feature SOME basic MLS apparel. At your worst you'll find some Wizards stuff and LA Beckhams gear. At your best you might find a range of stuff from around the league, but don't get your hopes up too high.
There's a new Puma store in town. I think it's either in or next to Oak Park Mall. I haven't been there yet but a friend works there.
Out of curiosity, is there anywhere to get Umbro trainers in the US? I saw a pair while I was gone and I thought to myself how cool it would be to be the only kid on the block with a pair of Umbro shoes.
No, not really, and this won't be much help, but there was a pretty cool new Umbro ad I saw recently. Edit - Sorry, thought you meant in KC. Yeah you can get Umbro's in the US. They're pretty widespread. I'd say probably you're better off looking online for them. Ahh found the long version.
Soccer express used to carry Umbros. They've changed to new owners, though, so I'm not sure about now.
I went to Dick's in Lee's Summit Sunday and they did not have a single Wizards shirt or any MLS gear- they had a Galaxy ball and a few MLS (not teams) balls. That was it- very disappointing store as a whole as I could not find a single thing from any of my favorite teams, they did have discounted Dante Hall and Trent Green Chiefs jerseys though.
The Dick's at 119th & Nall has Wizards jerseys and a couple of t-shirts (including the long-sleeve mock away jersey T) as well a Real Madrid jerseys, Celtic jersey, possibly an Argie and Mexico as well. The Dick's at 119th & Black Bob has the Wizards jerseys and t-shirts as well. The price of the jersey is the same as at the stadium, $65.
you might try Dick's for umbro shoes...I bought a couple of umbro shirts at the one on Johnson Drive a few months ago...they were also carrying umbro shorts. Check their website first, though.
The Adidas outlet at The Legends has Argentina, Spain, and a few Germany jerseys left. They also have Trinidad and Tobago jerseys. So if anyone wants to make a Sealy kit, nows your chance.
You might try El Padrino at 9th and Central. Its a mexican owned store so there are lots of club kits from latin american countries. They also carry a wide variety of boots. They might have umbro, for sure they have Kelme. It helps if you speak spanish, but not required. In the past they have had tables setup after the game.
This thread is a couple years old, but I thought I'd try and get an update from someone. Where are the good stores to go for Soccer equipment? It seems to me that Dicks mainly caters to kids. I just drove by the Soccer Master at 91st and it appears to have moved or closed. How is the Play it Again Sports in OP? Thanks
Dicks has a decent selection, but if you're looking for high-end shoes head to Soccer Master. Or...figure out what size you are and order from soccer.com.
