I am very interested in knowing more about Seoul United. It seems like it is ognna be a very promising club. I have a few questions tho.. why does everyone hate FC Seoul? i wanna know more about Seoul united except i cannot read korean? can any of u guys give some info of their future expectations in Korean football. one more thing...will the Seoul United players earn money playing in 3rd divison...if so how much? and where does the club get the money to pay the players?

Everyone hates FC Seoul because they're AC Milan's B side. No, what happened was back in 1996/1997-ish, the K-League Assoc. decided that the league's expansion was dependant on the onset of localism and convinced themselves that the model for professional sports was this cycle of give and take from team to its local area. After the World Cup, all the so-called Korean football gurus decided that it was imperative and absolutely critical that Seoul needed a professional team because of its 10 Million + potential fan base. A partner/sister corporation of LG, GS, decided that they pick up the flame. The only problem was, they have been in Anyang for the past 10 years. So basically, everyone's pissed off because they deliberately ignored the League's ideal. The bigger problem was that it immediately set itself as precedent for Bucheon SK's move/transition into Jeju United. Me? I don't care. I just don't want hand me downs. I've been supporting Suwon nearly for a decade now, and Anyang was Suwon greatest rival and the only derby in Korea. I've got to be nuts to support them. Your sentiment, well, that's your choice. ------------- As for Seoul United: K3 is a pure amateur club system. It's only requirements are an entry fee, a contract with their local city, and an acceptable home field that is at least equipped with artificial grass. Hence, their players are amateurs with some ex-have beens, here and there, that do not get paid a single penny. Seoul United FC (home stadium: Jamsil Olympic Stadium) are a grass-roots corporation, and are currently recieving initial capital in exchange for the title of "The Founding Fathers," and this entire project is called SU-SOCIO. Stocks will be traded once they figure they have achieved sustainability in the most minimal respect, and the company will start from there with their Seoullite stock-holders being the owner of the company. As a supporter of this team (which I could probably play for myself, lol), I must say, Yokohama FC of Japan should be our model. I won't get into the details but they too, were an amateur team founded by the fans, and have taken them nearly 13 years to get promoted into division 1 this season. The K3 is on a trial run this season and promotion/relegation with the National League is still too early to tell. Nobody can make any promises on when we'll see Seoul United play in the K-League but its a chance for us to unite and truly support "our" team. I read this article on Man Ure fans, and this 60 year old guy had his MUFC scarf back from the 60's and had a JS Park shirt on. Who knows, maybe I'll head over to Sangam WC Stadium to flick off the FC Seoul clowns holding my SUFC scarf from 2005 (I must admit, I'm one of the few that actually has this and its not for sale, bitches), when I'm 60.
