Benfica has a young player called Manu, he's on loan to a club in Italy and has been impressive there, but I don't know anything more about. Does anyone know if he is Portuguese?

Manu was signed by Benfica from Alversa's youth system and then loaned out to Modena of Italy for one year.

He was signed in a "special package" ordered by Luis Filipe Vieira...with other 5 or 6 players... like José Rui and Rodolfo Lima, it seems LFL can do what he want with Alverca players or wasnt he the former Alverca chairman...

I'm really looking forward to Ricardo Vaz Te growing up so we can see what he can do at the Senior Team level. I think he's going to be great.

LFV was the Alverca chairman before going to SLB to head up their SAD. Anyways, he has brought over quite a number of Alverca players, so it doesn't surprise me that anyone who is of any talent on Alverca somehow finds their way to SLB.

What about the player that started ahead of Rui Jorge for Sporting in their first game. I think his name is Paito. Is he Portuguese? How old is he? I saw him play twice when Sporting came to New England this summer. He looked quick.

Nope. He is from Mozambique and is 22 years old. But watch out for another left back from Sporting youth system, Valdir. He is a starter for the U-21 team and is loaned to 2nd league team Ovarense.

No one has mentioned Fabio Paim?? He may be the best prospect of them all.

I agree. If he pans out the way he is supposed to, he will be the next CR. I know, that is quite a comparison but this kid is very, very skilled.

The only time I've seen him play was in that Dubai cup. He looks like a very decent player. I'm surprised that he's not a regular on PS's starting 11.

Why are we not talking about Ivanildo?

This kid has all the talent in the world and then some. I find it that if people don't hype a player, he usually stands out.

I'll help out vila here. I can't believe nobody is talking about Fabio Coentrao.

He was named tourney MVP at the under 20 Madeira cup. He plays for Rio Ave. He was in talks with Chelsea but is close to signing with Sporting, his dream team as his stated in a interview.
