The foundation
The roots of Sport Club Internacional are can be traced to three members of the Poppe family, Henrique, José and Luis. They came from São Paulo to Porto Alegre in 1908 and opened a shop in the city. The Poppes had trouble being accepted in the city clubs. In their twenties, they wanted to play sports, especially football.
