HeskeyHack

I hate it when bloggers feel the necessity to give you chapter and verse about why they've been off line for a while. If you really cared you would have called.

Suffice it to say that I have some catching up to do, starting with the contribution of our own Andy Mead who caught the shot that settles any debate:

Here's the next shot in the series which doesn't offer as much info but does demonstrate that the first photo wasn't deceptive.

Which is to say that this is, by the Laws of the Game, an egregious offense in about five ways.

Heskey launched himself at a helpless keeper who, by some definitions, already has the ball. He gets there very late. If it's the ball he's trying to strike with his foot then he has eyesight problems.

(One thing the photos do not show is just why in the hell the US doesn't have a body on Heskey. For shame.)

An ESPN interview this morning has Howard describing how they seem to be working furiously on his ribs, which therapy includes both stim and deep manipulation and he makes no effort to conceal the fact that it hurts like hell.

But of course it there's still no question that he'll be out there against the suddenly swaggering Slovenians.
