Cat Fight!!

ESPN is running a college soccer feature this morning.

But before the nice folks in the various BigSoccer forums concerned with such topics get too terribly excited about NCAA womens' soccer finally getting the serious recognition it so richly deserves, they might want to take a look at the segment:

The player in question is one ELIZABETH LAMBERT who is apparently on a one-woman crusade to prove that thuggery is not an entirely male province.

I'm thinking there's a better than even chance that New Mexicos' AD is going to spend a little time on the phone with the NCAA today.

Just a guess.

ADDENDUM: I'm not avoiding a summary of the playoff game last night. MLS hasn't posted the clips yet.

She's only a junior. Get your popcorn ready for next year's conference games.

First woman in the MLS? She certainly has the talent.

When confronted by a thug like that, the players at some point can be expected to take responsibility for their own safety. The snapping of bone, and/or major knee ligaments generate some unforgettably unique sounds...both in the moment and immediately thereafter.

Thank God for Julie Foudy and her expert analysis.

How else would we have known pulling a girl's hair was over the line?

    I'd do her.

Though, her bio says her favorite food is "tacos" so perhaps New Mexico isn't the only other team she plays for.

Well, I think Lenhart might wonder just how far over the line MLS refs think hair pulling is.

And speaking of refs, this crew clearly needs a refresher course in what constitutes a cardable offense. I know others have noted this elsewhere, but refs in girls' high school and women's college soccer often let things get out of control b/f calling fouls/handing out cards.

TFC has just found our centre-back for the next ten years.

Get that young lady a work visa and a plane ticket, pronto!

They must play like my rec league does- one center ref and no ARs.

how could three of them miss all of those plays?
